This one is (obviously) inspired by the song ‘Rhinestone Cowboy‘ by Glen Campbell – but giving it a little up to date twist. It’s a screenprint on A3 paper with hand-painted pants and added rhinestone goodness. Unfortunately now that i’ve put the words ‘rhinestone cowboy’ down on paper (so to speak) I can’t get the bloody song out of my head. I suppose I should have guessed that would have happened. Oh well, I suppose I could have something more annoying running riot in my brain – perhaps ‘Blame it on the weatherman’ by B*witched. That would certainly count towards self-decapitation…

I can’t wait until we’ve got the screenprinter out again as i’ve got plenty of t-shirts & paper and a whole load of ideas that need to be used up. Hopefully sometime soon…

Cheers

so glad this dude is back

I first met Thomas working at Best Buy in the camera dept. We had both previously been Wolf Camera employees (not at the same store unfortunately) and it gave us common ground to complain about how poorly managed Wolf stores were. A very chill dude, I always looked forward to sharing a shift with this guy. Years later we would be neighbors.

Another old friend, Joe Savage, passed a week ago today.

Joe was a twice met, never forgotten person. He lived to the full,

consuming family, friends, music, art, wine, angling, cuisine, sharp clothing and the occasional exotic cigarette with equal gusto. He also had the effrontery to always seem at least ten years younger than his real age, with an enviably full head of hair and an undiminished lust for life.

Joe will be missed, but he was so much more like a great character in a book than a mere mortal like the rest of us, that I'll catch myself wondering what he's up to now, long after he's gone. He leaves behind the indomitable Penny (the partners of such men have to be near saints) and his great pride Eliza.

Thanks for the ride Joe, you made it considerably richer.

We were just over at one of our screen printers, Shirts Our Business to shoot video of designs being printed on the press (for future 365 postings – so be on the lookout!). We snapped this photo down one of their many aisles of burned screens. Each wood screen you see here is one part (color) of a design that has been printed in the past. So when one of our designs are reprinted, these screens are always ready to go for a quick setup and print.
