Kids attending the Children's Social Forum at the 2007 US Social Forum got a chance to silkscreen their own shirts. Volunteers helped the smaller kids make sure that the ink went through the screens evenly.
Wet screening is where the soil samples from each pit goes to be able to find small artifacts. Lead shot, gun parts, bones, beads, square nails, fiance, jewelry, small tools, daub, broken glass and even animal bones and teeth are found. Float tests are also taken from these samples to determine vegetation from the site.
Over three evengins, we had screenings of some of their films. We saw Munyurangabo, Long Coat and one of the latest films, Maibobo, about street kids, by Yves Montand (pictured). It was great being able to talk to the director about his film and his passion to make social change through film.
