4/14/12 Privates Beach, Capitola CA. Minutes after rescuing Itchy, I got a call about another stranded underweight seal at a private beach. On weekends a security guard lets you thru the locked gate. Kind of exclusive and not in the spirit of free access for all that holds sway on the majority of the CA coast. This nice couple helped me carry him once he was in the crate and they did not let their little dog any closer than he is in this pic.
Itchy and Scratchy
Itchy is a small black cat with big amber eyes. Scratchy is a small mottled tortie, female cat with the same big eyes. We believe they are approx 1yr old.
They came to us when they were approx 4 months old, from a home that had contained numerous cats.
They are nervous and not overly friendly, sadly in kennels we have been unable to give the amount of quality time needed to bring them around – and the other friendlier kittens have always been chosen first.
They are not feral or mean but do become very wary when approached and are not eager to be handled. We are hoping to find someone with the time to work with them or alternatively a suitable farm/stable/yard to make their own. They are clean & healthy.
They have always been together. However, if someone was willing to put in the necessary time and patience we would consider rehoming separately as this may speed up their socialisation, as they would not be able to rely on just each other for company.
They are currently living at Blazegate Kennels near Holbeach.

Of all days, not today! I woke up this morning with a seriously scratchy throat. I remember sneezing yesterday, but that was about it. It doesn't matter when it happens; I never like it. But today the kids and I are going to see Iron Man II and other things. I'd hate to have an irritated throat while trying to spend time with them.
