I don't think there's a thing in the world Archibald loves more than getting scratches from his dad.

The Cummings/Kluth Estate in beautiful Mukwonago was built as a Sears kit house in 1903. It was built solidly with real 2x4 studs (not the modern "2x4s" that really aren't). Unfortunately, it was also built with no insulation whatsoever. Room by room, we plan to renovate. This was the scene Sunday morning in the master bedroom. By the time we went to bed, the insulation was finished and the vapor barrier was hung; the building inspector should be visiting as I type. I must say that the home renovation has gone very well so far, and with any luck, the sheetrock will be hung and we'll be down to just the floors a week from today. (Knock on wood)
Our office was invited to another office for a Halloween party lunch. They transformed their office into "The Simpsons" theme. They went ALL OUT!

This is a patch of wall near my apartment in the suburbs of Tokyo. I love how someone, most likely a child went at it with a rock and stick to draw this sun or flower. Really rough and expressive. This wall is old and i covered by years of passersby's marks.
No idea whose dog this is, he came trotting up, all smelly and with no collar, scratching himself (or herself, I didn't make a close inspection!) in all manner of novel and peculiar ways. Friendly wee chap, and hungry as a horse!
He was christened 'Scratchy Jack' because, well, because of the scratching, and being a Jack Russell :-)

This will lift your skin off if you scrub too hard.
One of our resident male Broadbill hummingbirds. Click to enlarge. Taken in Tucson, Arizona in the Sonoran Desert. Sometimes they are curious about what we do in the yard, coming within inches to see what's going on. So, sometimes they are also not too shy when lenses are pointing at them. More hummingbirds in Photostream and/or Hummingbird album.
