Theatre Hullabaloo is pioneering new ways of supporting artists in our region to make fantastic theatre for young audiences.
Working with our friends at Dance City, Live Theatre and Northern Stage, we have selected three artists who we have supported to develop three new ideas to scratch at this year’s TakeOff Festival.
Our artists have been mentored to develop their idea through our child-centred approach and have received a package of support that has included festival visits, masterclasses and sector specialist mentoring, enabling them to gain real insight into their target audience.
Scratch - is a mutant cat, and enemy of the Turtles. He is one of the most sought-after TMNT action figures ever made and can sell for Thousands of dollars in auction. Very few were produced and he was among the last of the villains to be released.

Two ex-cons, secretly working for an incinerator plant, their boss Mr. Rutt, is paying them to dump toxic waste in the middle of the night. The evil Mr. Rutt doesn’t think twice about kicking a cat into the toxic waste vat when it accidentally trips him, mutating into "Hallocat" and Later know as "Scratch".

宋代建盏
8月27日消息："卡时代"最害怕什么？消磁。有什么材料能一劳永逸地摆脱消磁烦恼？最近，上海科学家首次在宋代建盏标本中发现了一种罕见的高纯度硬磁材料－－epsilon－Fe2O3，它极难被消磁，在计算机网络的高密度数据存储方面可能具有诱人的应用前景。
中科院上海硅酸盐研究所研究员、古陶瓷科学研究国家文物局重点科研基地副主任李伟东是该研究负责人之一。她告诉记者，epsilon－Fe2O3是氧化铁家族中"神秘莫测"的一位：在自然界中极为罕见，这种材料在1934年被首次发现后，其晶体结构直至近10年才被确定。但它的硬磁性魅力，始终牵引着科学家的心弦。原来，高纯度的epsilonFe2O3极难被消磁。这种材料不仅可用在信用卡磁条上，还可在研发更快更节能的计算机、存储量更大更便宜的存储介质以及高速无线通讯等领域大显身手。同时，氧化铁化合物制备成本低廉，有望大规模推广。然而，遗憾的是，科学家利用现代制备技术，目前只能得到这种材料纳米尺度的晶体，使它的应用推广步履维艰。
戏剧性的是，李伟东等人意外地在1000年前的宋代文物建盏中，发现了梦寐以求的大尺寸epsilon－Fe2O3晶体。
建盏在宋代是皇帝隆重赐茶的专用茶具，被称为"中国伟大却又含蓄的器物"。古人留下了"忽惊午盏兔毛斑，打出春瓮鹅儿酒"等诗句，以表达对建盏的嘉许。一件件精美的建盏，交错着质朴的黑釉与自然天成的条纹斑点，有兔毫盏、油滴盏、鹧鸪斑盏等种类，令人赏心悦目。而这正是epsilon－Fe2O3晶体的"曼妙身姿"。
自20世纪80年代至今，上硅所与福建博物院合作，对建盏进行系统研究。近年来，李伟东研究团队与美国伯克利国家实验室、中科院上海微系统与信息技术研究所研究员刘志合作，借助各种先进实验手段，对建盏兔毫釉、油滴釉进行了深入研究。研究结果令人吃惊：他们首次在银色油滴中发现罕见的高纯度epsilon－Fe2O3晶体－－这些晶体的纯度和尺寸，为目前人工制备条件所难以达到。
研究人员推测，虽然古代窑工并不懂得其中的奥妙，但"无心插柳"地满足了epsilon－Fe2O3晶体的苛刻生长条件：高铁粘土作为制瓷原料，在依山坡而建的龙窑中烧制，恰好提供了合适的高温和低氧分压条件。目前，科学家正试图复现古人烧制建盏的工艺条件，还原关键的技术环节，进而优化制备条件，以获得高纯度晶体。
