Last October my husband and I were excited to scrape enough together to spend a few days on the north shore of Minnesota! This was our first real, non work related vacation in years so we were excited even though we traveled simply. The first day, we got to know Duluth and how beautiful it is and how wonderful the food is. We especially loved touring Glensheen mansion. Duluth really stole our hearts. However, the north shore captured our souls!
We spent two days hiking and driving around the north shore along Lake Superior. And we had a blast. Our next stop was Tettegouche State Park, and it was the absolute best yet! We loved this place so much. It was foggy and misty and cold but we enjoyed every moment. First, we hiked past the very nice new visitor's center and out to shovel point. Then back toward the visitor's center and down to where Baptism River meets Lake Superior. Unfortunately my camera (and my own eyes) did not care for the fog, so most of my shots of this area did not turn out. Oh well!
Like the rest of the house, there are many, many layers of history to be scraped, recorded, tended to.
some of the hardground flaked off and the face got some bits ate off. I'm scraping and burnishing to fix them.

Got a new heat gun, and the temp was reasonable today. We had a cold front pass by, which here in July means a high of 88.

Dave graciously spent his Sunday cleaning, vacuuming, wiping, and scraping off 10 year old window clings. Needless to say, I owe him a backrub.
As drawn by Jessica aged 4. This is (in Jessica's own words) a picture of Jessica helping her Uncle Mike to scrape wallpaper off the walls. Mike is the one with the hair on top of his head, Jessica is the one with hair at the sides as she has long hair
