Scrapclay bearbeitet mit Swellegants.
Etwas Donna Kato, etwas Christi Friesen und etwas von mir..:)
"Club 52" Woche 52/19
My tutorial using scrap clay for this design is on The Polyclay Forum: www.polyclay.co.uk/index.php/topic,704.0.html
This is the variation lower down in the tutorial, by the way.
The finished piece. Now for the hardest parts- naming and pricing. Any suggestions? update- never really settled on a name, but it is sold!
Scrapclay bemalt mit Swellegants!
Bin aber noch nicht zufrieden damit...also muss er noch zu Eva reisen damit er perfekt wird..:)

.....
Scrapclay painted with Swellegants!
But I am still not happy with it ...
He still has to travel to Eva so he will perfect .. :)
I used scraps from the sheet I made for the penlight key ring to make this. I like these colors together.
So gefällt er mir...
Er durfte/musste sogar mit nach Hamburg, für seinen letzten Schliff ..:)

This marbling process does look quite different from mokume gane, actually. I like the veining. Okay all you stone people, what stone does this most closely resemble? And what other color combination would look good in this technique?

Another attempt at carving a luminary. I've put LED lights inside and now we have another fun glowing lamp for the room we hang out in. I wouldn't mind having a whole series of these, in different colors and patterns.

Obviously I didn't pay quite enough attention to getting all the air pockets out of my cane, so now have a few gaps showing, but should be able to work round that - hmmmm what to do with this now? Need coffee and some food while I think about something fabulous!
I used the carving scraps from day 40 to make this mug. It is a pinch pot, made without forms. It's big enough to use as a mug, but since it's vinyl will have to be used as a vase. Makes me wish for a pile of white and blue flowers to put in it.

The way the swirls of this one line up in this view remind me of The Scream by Edvard Munch. But it looks different from the other side. I like the colors, LOVE the gold, but I'm still not sure about this marbled effect making it into a tutorial. I like making it, but it looks too much like mokume gane. Hmm.

Bangle made from scrap clay. I love the uncontrollable and unexpected pattern I get when I play with the scrap clay.
Here's a little (faux) stone planter for little things like succulents. Or toothpicks. Or sugar packets. Or...or...well, whatever you'd like. :) I don't know if you've noticed, but many of my vessels have used the leftover clay from a previous day, and this is no exception. This was the leftovers from yesterday (which included the leftovers from the day before that.) Just add some more colors, mix it up, and you've got a whole new wad of clay to use for the next project.

There is great power in doing something over and over again. You learn little things each time. Made the same mistake that I made the previous two days but THIS time I figured out a totally different way to do it that's even better. Also, this color blue is fabulous against the gray. I am totally having a love affair with the MATERIAL of this medium. Yes, the material and the medium are two different things. Should I write a Muse post about that? Yes, yes, I should.
You DO get The Muse, right? If not, you're missing out on so much!! #polymerclay #premo #sculpey #scrapclay #nosuchthingasscrap #funnyhashtags #terrazzo #fauxterrazzo #vase #pot #fauxstone #notcast #handmade #diyhomedecor #bluedecor #thebluebottletree #gingerdavisallman #polyclay #containersandvessels #the100dayproject #tbbt100 #tbbtvessels
Got a little carried away after Randee's presentation of this technique to the guild. 87 pieces later and a massive sanding session, this is the result.
At our March meeting, Randee Ketzel showed us how to make her leopard skin pebbles. Lots of fun was had playing with scrap clay, and seeing how all the pretty pebbles emerged from a wad of scrap clay.
Bei Leila (gom6699) gesehen ; ) !
