The Amazing Maryann is such a powerful magician that she can pull lots of rabbits out of her little hat.

An experiment in multiple controlled paint runs. 760mm by 570mm. I thought this would come out much more regimented given the systematic approach I used. Over time though the dribbles did not descend simply vertically under gravity but they followed in places the trails from previous runs, descending in zig zags and resolutely in places refusing to go where I wanted them to go. The effect of this though was to make the central area less covered resulting in the lighter feel. There are some interesting optical effects (an odd scintillating sensation) produced which were unintentional but welcome nontheless.

Yesterday's sunset fizzled out from behind the thick clouds, but the blue hour cloud movement was worth the wait. For some reason, this spot has gotten really popular and there were no less than ten photographers vying for a spot! Unfortunately, living in a Garden City means that the flyover from which this was shot from has to be planted with lots of shrubs and bushes, so the best spot (being a tiny clearing among the bushes) can only tightly fit four photographers at one sitting. Luckily, we got there in time to secure a spot!
2-frame blend (one frame for sky, and one for light trails, quite lucky to have gotten strong light trails on both sides in one frame!), with Haida 3-stop Nanopro ND filter for a longer exposure.

Each panel of the four sides of the primera grada is elaborately decorated with classic designs of symmetrical sprouts of acanthus vine ending in blooms and young leaflets.
The elegant lozenge-shaped cartouche dominates the center of each panel, like a chapa or coat-of-arms demanding respect and attention. As a highlight, it is crowned with curling young acanthus leaves.
It is surrounded with arabesque scrolls of this classic vine that emanates from a bunch at its bottom. The empty flat surface of the cartouche provides space for an emblem or monogram. More importantly, the smooth surface reflects light and shines like a mirror. It throws off a large amount of light making it scintillate at a distance. Under the sun, the andas sparkles in brilliance. With moonbeams and nightlights, it glows in the dark.

See you in the second Sunday of February and July 29 Fiesta of Sta Marta
My first photograph in a long, long time.
And wow, it felt good to be out again. I felt the autumn cold creeping up my back, the wind playing with my hair and the motivation scintillating within me. It feels as if I've been saving up energy to create for a while now. Today it felt like it came growing out of a void and became something beautiful.

On a bright overcast day, this scene, in the back of a metal recycling company, scintillated with puddles, dumpsters, pallets, a billboard support, drab buildings, and other random stuff to fill up a photographic frame.

There are times when I know the skies are going to put on a scintillating display but I am too tired at the end of the day to go far, in those circumstances, I go to my Lazy Landscape Location - The ONGC Bridge. With the family in tow, we go for a quick drive, munch on an American Corn Cob, stop on the bridge & take some quick No-Tripod-Just-Hand-Held shots. Most of the time the traffic police come & shoos us away from the bridge but till then we are done; both with the corn-cob & the quickie, I mean image i.e.! 😃
One of the many scintillating exhibits on display at Seattle's Chihuly Museum. Dale Chihuly,a native of the Pacific Northwest, is an American sculptor who has made numerous stunning sculptures from glass. This representation of a boat is one of the numerous brilliant works on display at the Chihuly Museum located at the Seattle Center.
This area of the Rhine has been inhabited since Roman times and the area was known as Wochara for the brook that emptied into the Rhine until after the early middle ages.
I mentioned in a previous post that St Goar is named after a saintly hermit monk and to continue that story, Goar of Aquitaine a Frank made the area his home in the early 6th century and true to hermitage form actually lived in a cave along the banks of the Rhine.
The Bishop of Trier learning of the holy man and sensing an opportunity to increase his influence in the area supported Goar as a missionary to the locals.
Goar became a fixture in the area with skills in taking care of the sick and injured as well for his great hospitality with the rivermen who worked the area.
His legend and good works continued in this area of the Rhine for many years until his death in 575 and after his passing his grave became a pilgrimage site for the Rhine boatmen and locals.
Eventually a town sprang up around the hospice and chapel that St Goar started and its name taken from the local legend.
I took this with my D750 and Tamron SP 24-70mm 2.8 G2 Lens processed in LR, PS luminosity masks and DXO Nik
Disclaimer: Not trying to be realistic in my editing there is enough realism in the world, my style is a mix of painterly and romanticism as well as a work in progress.

Taken for Crazy Tuesday 1 Feb 2022 "Open Aperture"
using a fully manual Carl Zeiss Jena prime lens. The aperture ring on this lens doesn't work - it's stuck wide open so it was an obvious lens to play with for this challenge.
f2.8 (manually set on lens), 1/200 (manually set on camera), ISO160 (set by camera).
The scintillating bokeh was a happy accident.
Fabulous display of lights over the Queen's walk, scintillating ...

Like most good cloud formations, your mind can come up with many interpretations. This was another keeper shot from off the terrace.........
Church of the Good Shepherd
The iconic church against the backdrop of a sunset sky. Really fortunate to have managed to photograph this very popular before the fences were erected.

Yesterday's drama light at Pinnacle@Duxton. The downpour during sunset really made for the right kind of glowy conditions for a rainbow!
It really was one of the most dramatic shoots that I had, where rain, a brilliant sunset, a rainbow and finally lightning were observed from a single location; albeit from different directions.
