This old school was built circa 1923 with locally sourced basalt stone. It is now a private residence. I'm glad to see they left the old outhouse as it sets the time period tone.
As always, your faves and comments are appreciated. Constructive criticism and suggestions are especially welcome as I believe they help to make me a better photographer. Thank you for taking the time to look at my photos.

A school was established here in 1887, and the current building dates from 1902. The Manitoba Historical Society does an amazing job documenting these sites and on their entry it states that, "among the teachers of Brown Lea School were Miss Lucy Cockburn (1887), Miss Eliza (1888), Miss Ross (1898), Miss Edith Young (1902), and Mrs. Eva Gouldie". I wonder what their lives and their students' lives were like.

A free moment now that the preparation of the school lunch is under control. The ladies help provide a healthy meal for the students of the Higher Primary School in Krishnarajpet, Karnataka.
These youngsters attend a local parochial school that is still doing in school classes. When I saw them running down the block after school was letting out for the day , I recalled the joy I felt when my school day was ending , especially if it was before a long holiday weekend
If you are watching this, that means that you like photography, but it doesn't mean that it is your main activity.
Probably it would be an intrusion to your intimacy, but I would like to know what is it that you do besides photography (work wise) if you don't mind of course I'm my case I own some language schools in Japan and photography is the way that I can release my pressure...how about you?
Dry Creek School, established in 1885 still stands in a pasture in Union County Oregon near Summerville. As seen on a dramatic sky day. This building is listed in the National Register of Historic Places, reference number 00001019. s3.amazonaws.com/NARAprodstorage/lz/electronic-records/rg...
The woodshed is no longer standing, as neither is the 100 year old trees that's listed in the record.
The little school was opened in 1879, shortly after gold was discovered in the nearby Shotover River (then dubbed ‘the richest river in the world’). Skippers Township became the largest gold settlement on the Shotover, and in its heyday, the school had 27 pupils on its roll. But as the gold petered out, so did the resident population, and the school closed in 1927. New Zealand.

Abandoned school still standing. Despite being missing the windows, is still in relatively good shape.

An old one room schoolhouse in rural Matheson Ontario. My Dad attended this school from 1933 until I think 1940, and prior to that my Grandmother from what I understand was a teacher in this school. It was located a short 2 mile walk from my grandparent's homestead. My Dad would walk this route to school in temperatures during the winter as low as -30c. If I remember the story correctly, he had to walk uphill both ways lol :-)
