Thursday, May 27, 2021 was the last day of school during the brutal 2020-2021 school year, and my last day of work until July. An already difficult year was made that much more difficult when my schedule was upset in the last 3 weeks of school and had me on duty for 11 hour straight hours, with barely enough time for lunch. So it was on this last day, that my employer saw fit, in whatever limited capacity they chose, to bring in a catered hot dog vendor as a way of thanking us for risking our lives on a daily basis during a deadly pandemic. This day also saw sloppy rains and a cold front that would feel more like a cold November day than the last day of school and the unofficial start of summer.
As it so happened, word filtered down that, thanks to a forward-thinking mechanical foreman in Galesburg, IL at the west end of the BNSF Mendota Sub, the the eastbound manifest M-GALCNI would have 4 Canadian National locomotives, with a former Illinois Central standard cab SD-70 as the leader. And so it was, on the last day of school, I stood outside in a cold rain eating Vienna Beef hotdogs waiting for an all-CN train on my lunch break.
East Coast also now operate several school services to/from North Berwick High School including service 125 to Musselburgh. 20626 is seen having the delight of that route this afternoon. 19th August 2016.
How exciting to ride the bus to school, just like the big kids!
These Petite Blythe dolls are posing for “Back to School” on Facebook. I found the school bus at the thrift store.
So school has basically taken over my life. My backpack is literally ripping at the seams.. not to mention my brain. I weighed my backpack today... 30 pounds! ahh i long for summer. Only 24 more days!!
Elmira School is evidently doing remote learning only. There is no sign of activity. Actually, it appears to be abandoned!

St Patrick's private boys school is located in the heart of Brisbane's Bayside suburban Shorncliffe. This mural pays tribute to and acknowledges the local First Nations people, original owners of the land on a water tank in the front of the grounds.
Dugongs, dolphins, turtles and kangaroos are featured, all living in and around Moreton Bay (which is just across the street) and the Glasshouse Mountains in the rear which on most fine days can be seen from the vantage point of the hill at Shorncliffe on which the suburb rests. The mural also features hand prints, a common feature of First Nations art.
Built in 1890 this old school is now the administration building for public school system of Rutland, Vermont.
On the East Coast of New Zealand just past Opotiki is Torere Beach, with a magnificent carved Maori gateway at the entrance to the Torere School on the top of the hill as you leave the bay and Hawai Beach.

Norfolk Southern train 14Q moves east along the Chicago Line near Millersburg, Indiana, with five standard cab locomotives, a SD70, C40-8 and three SD40-2s. It was a nice change from the endless parade of comfort cabs.
School building built in 1921 and converted into living space in the mid-1980s. Stockade Historic District, Schenectady, New York.
Alright soooo....don't butcher me on this one. It's an HDR from 9 or 10 different shots I think. It's quite litereally the first HDR I've done at night. Hence, why I said, "don't butcher me"! It was an experiment plain and simple.
So this is the sidewalk outside of a local school It's pretty neat cause it's all wood cept for the columns.
Photomatix 3.2.7 with no extra processing in PS. Longest exposure was 1m1s at an f/10
If anyone has any tips for doing night HDR's feel free to comment or flickrmail me!
Sometimes I admire the MCAD students because it seems like some have child prodigy-like talent or endless amounts of creativity, or both.
So if you thought art school was easy, it's quite the contrary.

CHEF clabudak wants us to have fun with math and geometry!

Well, of course, I was wrong! I HAVE used math quite a bit in my lifetime. All the items pictured were from Pixabay. Text from Picsart.
