La bellezza della Laguna di Venezia non la si ritrova sui consunti percorsi del turismo di massa, bensì nei suoi angoli segreti. Nelle sacche di gronda, dove le acque basse offrono abbondante pastura, nel tardo pomeriggio si affollano centinaia di uccelli. Cigni reali, fenicotteri rosa e gabbiani, animano i paesaggi delle paludi salmastre in cui gli umani sono di passaggio soltanto raramente ..... ..
Photographers at the edge of Godafoss waterfall in Central-North Iceland. It is not just the scale and beauty of this waterfall but its entire environment, the amazing river canyon formed from columnar basalt, the surrounding mountains and the sheer scale that make you feel elated and dizzy. I shot this scenario for I liked the different perspective offered.
These bog scenarios at the Northern Icelandic coast between Siglufjordfur and Bloenduos are perfect sanctuaries for vast numbers of migratory birds, which we saw in their thousands during our roadtrip.
I'm standing more than one hour in a heavy wind on top of mt. Gohrisch betting against myself. What is going to happen first ? That the sun is breaking through the clouds, on its way behind the horizon ? Or that the thunderstorm, what is circeling around me all the time quite threatening, is washing me off this rocks ? I had, how unexpected, a clear fave and I'm very happy, that this scenario finally did happen. In the end, that moment, what was diving everything in a dreamlike light, did last three minutes at the most. Enough to say, this was more than worth it.
Ich stehe mehr als eine Stunde lang in heftigem Wind auf dem Gipfel des Gohrisch und schließe mit mir selbst Wetten ab. Was wird wohl als erstes eintreten ? Das die Sonne auf ihrem Weg hinter den Horizont die Wolken durchbricht und sich mir zeigt ? Oder das mich das Unwetter, welches die ganze Zeit bedrohlich um mich herum wandert, von den Felsen spült. Ich hatte, wie unerwartet, einen klaren Favorit und ich bin sehr froh, dass dieses Szenario dann auch eingetreten ist. Am Ende dauerte dieser Moment, der alles in ein traumhaftes Licht tauchte, maximal 3 Minuten. Genug um zu sagen, dass hat sich mehr als gelohnt.

Gangi is a village perched on Monte Barone, a mountain covered in houses with Etna in the background, 120 km from Palermo.
This small village stands at a thousand meters above sea level, surrounded by churches and noble palaces.

Inside the Evoluon museum, shot towards the structuralist reinforced concrete skeleton of the roof. The building, which looks like a UFO or flying saucer, was built as a showcase for technological progress, particularly those in which the originally Eindhoven-based company Philips was involved. It was designed by Louis Kalff and Leo de Bever and transferred to the municipality of Eindhoven in 1966 on Philips' 75th anniversary.
The building was an educational technology museum from 1966 to 1989 and attracted many visitors until the 1970s. This was partly because they were allowed to experiment and operate the showcased models themselves. This was new then and particularly attractive to schoolchildren and other young people. Many schools traditionally organised an 'Evoluon trip' once a year.
In 2022, the Evoluon reopened as a museum under the leadership of the Next Nature Foundation. This organisation focuses on researching the impact of technology on our lives and the planet. Next Nature makes future scenarios tangible for a wide audience in the Evoluon through exhibitions and educational programmes for schools and companies.

A ride on the carousel is every child's dream. And for all ages, this dream is associated with the Christmas season. The carousel has therefore been one of the special attractions at Christmas markets for decades. And in the best case scenario, it is even a historical example like the one at the Trier Christmas market.
I've had a scenario in my head for a while -- trying to get the right sunset clouds behind the Dallas skyline. This is getting closer. Usually storm clouds leaving to the east get my attention.

Among my favourite classical composers is Rachmaninov. As I post this image I am listening to his piano concerto No 2, from 1901. Within the melody, another familiar tune is revealed in the form of "All by myself", by Eric Carmon in 1975. A mistake that cost him dearly for using that same melody.
He thought it was public domain, when in fact the family had retained ownership. This scenario reminds me of that situation, but for the opposite reason. Believing for an instant that I own this moment, it is instead a public one. All will enjoy this melody that continues to play for others to capture.

With probably less than 15 minutes before the direct sun light died, CN 2016's headlight popped around the bend in the distance with limestone, much to my chagrin. They were following shortly behind the BLE 903 which also had limestone. I was really hoping to make use of a last patch of nose light along with the late season goldenrod. Made for a great twofer, sometimes you luck out. There have certainly been plenty of times that scenario has played out where I watched the light die entirely, only to have the headlight appear moments later.
When I saw the challenge this month for the Summit group in Shift Art...Mystery...and the requirements I almost didn't try to work through a story. Then things feel into place. Thanks to the wonderful textures Caroline Julia Moore chose. It helped with the perfect scenario of photos from Pixabay! Title is: Antiquity Mystery.

Its origins date back to Roman times, when the two stations of the Gemellae Templum merged and the name of the Temple of Pausania appears for the first time in 1173, in an agreement between the Bishop of Civita and the city of Pisa.

We took a wonderful stroll for several hours on Kapuzinerberg hill in Salzburg. The views over the town and surrounding Voralpenland landscape were amazing as was the weather complementing our birthday :) Here an image from the start of our walk which gave us interesting views over the rooftops of a part of the city.
