These bog scenarios at the Northern Icelandic coast between Siglufjordfur and Bloenduos are perfect sanctuaries for vast numbers of migratory birds, which we saw in their thousands during our roadtrip.

De Räterichsbodensee is een stuwmeer in het Grimselgebied in het Berner Oberland in Zwitserland.
Het meer heeft een volume van ongeveer 25 miljoen kubieke meter en ligt op een hoogte van ongeveer 1767 meter boven de zeespiegel. Het water uit het Räterichsbodenmeer wordt gebruikt om elektriciteit op te wekken in de energiecentrales

The lake has a volume of approximately 25 million cubic meters and is located at an elevation of approximately 1,767 meters above sea level. The water from the Räterichsbodensee is used to generate electricity in power plants.
Alle Plätze bleiben leer und dass auch an wichtigen Spieltage im Fußball, keine Sportveranstaltungen, keine open air Konzerte.....nichts.
Für Fotografen ein Traum, für die Wirtschaft nicht. Man kann nur hoffen, dass das Virus-Szenario bald ein Ende hat. Aber momentan sieht es leider nicht danach aus.

For photographers a dream, for the economy not. One can only hope that the virus scenario will soon come to an end. But unfortunately it doesn't look like that at the moment.

A dark autumn morning without sun on lake Bled, after a rainy night. A new storm was coming, but i had just the time to place the tripod and capture this dramatic scenario, with the threatening dull grey clouds and stunning colors of autumn.
We met and became a memory that can't be erased.

I went exploring new territories the other day and found an area with lots of moss. I found one finicky owl here, but eventually got many shots near and far being patient. He eventually got comfortable with my presence and I did some close videos and frames. I'm always looking to find areas with perches with texture. With all the wet weather it's the best scenario for those conditions. Click for larger view.

Je trouve extraordinaire de pouvoir capter des images très près de ces beaux oiseaux! Parfois j'ai droit à des moments assez uniques! Il était un pêcheur très habile, mais chaque fois, il répétait le même scénario: il capturait sa pêche, l'apprêtait à souhait, puis, étrangement, la laissait morte dans l'étang. Un détail, si vous grossissez l'image, au niveau de l'oeil, il est possible d'apercevoir la paupière intérieur à demi tirée.

Great Blue Heron
I believe it is an opportunity to be able to observe very closely these beautiful birds. This Heron was a gifted fisher, he would capture his fish, would get it ready to swallow, but would strangely leave it dead in the lake... If you enlarge the picture at the eye level, it is possible to see the interior eyelid, half pulled.

Yes indeed just after the shutter click those clouds opened up good and proper, and continued to do so for almost the whole way back home - a very wet 10k on foot. Yes - yes I know Mr Magoo drives a car in the cartoons but I’m not a cartoon and haven’t driven for 30 years, and how the heck does he find his car is what I want to know??? Some sort of metal detector might do it I suppose but a lot can go wrong with that scenario, and how does he know it is his car and not one belonging to some axe wielding whacko whose cheese has slid totally off his cracker? Mind you, I might not be a cartoon but life can be cartoon like at times…..my wife and I were dining out once when some outraged stranger accused me of trying to steal his pudding, kid you not, I accidentally put my hand in his pudding, right in there, up to the wrist almost and somehow I am stealing it - seriously!?! It wasn’t my fault, I had no idea it was there, it shouldn’t have been where it was it really shouldn’t, but stealing it - honestly, can you imagine?? Ooh ooh look, that gooey thing all covered in custard looks delicious, I think I’ll just grab me a handful and hope he doesn’t notice!! An accident and accused of thievery. What could I do - I lamely held up my white stick and pointed at it with a custard covered finger. The cheek of the fellow - I should have sued him for burns!So there you have it, there’s a reason why I don’t drive and have to get wet - and if I want a pudding I’ll buy my own……..

Mother Nature only came to play in our area for a very short time. Was expecting a much better scenario than just 1 picture. Though I know the hype when it comes to severe storms. I'll be patient. My time is coming!

Here is another of those situations where the parents' house is left abandoned even though the exterior seems to be in good shape. There is another newer house on the property, which is a working farm.
I have noticed in recent years that no one was ever around the house when I passed and that the snow was not cleared from entrances in the winter. The male farmer just died in 2022, and I am guessing the he and his wife might have been in a facility elsewhere for a year of two before that. She had been known as an unofficial historian of the area. They had only two children and. presumably, one farms and resides in the other house.
I have seen the scenario many times where the parental house is abandoned and one or more children live in considerably newer houses on the farm.
I've had a scenario in my head for a while -- trying to get the right sunset clouds behind the Dallas skyline. This is getting closer. Usually storm clouds leaving to the east get my attention.

Soms rijdt er wel eens een cargo langs lijn 66 met bestemming of herkomst Zeebrugge. Soms gebeurt het dat lijn 66 een cargo ziet met een andere bestemming al is dat eerder uitzonderlijk. De nieuwe maar sinds maanden reguliere cargo Zeebrugge-Milano rijdt ook langs mijn thuislijn. Na een voorgaande melding dat er deze keer de 1312 voor zou zitten, twijfelde ik geen moment, ook al zou het toch al bijna donker zijn!
In de laatste minuten van de dag kwam de 1312 toch nog met de Milano-shuttle door te Lichtervelde. Op een paar minuten tijd staat het station van Lichtervelde namelijk vol met treinen. En de rest van het uur (50') is het station namelijk helemaal leeg. Het eerste scenario deed zich namelijk voor enkele minuten voor deze cargo zich aandiende en daardoor ging deze trein diep in de remmen om de wissels te kunnen nemen in het station. Maar met een klein gemak werd de last terug op snelheid gebracht. Normaal gezien hoeft er amper afgeremd te worden en vliegen de cargo's als het ware het station in en uit!
En zo heb ik nu alle Lineas-kleurige locomotieven sinds de bekendmaking op 3 mei 2017. De type 13 (1312), de 2 traxxen: 255 en 293 en de 2 hld 77'ers: 7784 en 7789.
Er werd een beetje met de schuifschakelaars van Capture NX gespeeld hier ;-)

Met de Karlesjochbahn op de Kaunertaler gletsjer naar een hoogte van 3.108 m en het Dreiländerblick, dat je een fantastisch uitzicht geeft op de hoogste toppen van Oostenrijk, Italië en Zwitserland. Het indrukwekkende bergpanorama is een van de mooiste van het hele Alpengebied.
