Yep, it's true. I'm scared of heights. And it's such a bummer because then I'm scared of other things because of it! (roller coasters, sky scrapers, i think high bridges, stuff like that). But I do love airplanes! It's nice to take off your feet from the ground at times. It happens rarely though.
I've been wanting to take this picture since a while ago, today I thought was the day but all afternoon I just stayed on the computer watching In the land of women(crazy wicked!). In the end, at like 7 p.m. I found time. I'm lucky there's still some light at that time!
Yeah, so this is the garage, a rather interesting place for pictures!
I wanted to go bike with my cousin today but she had a terrible stomach ache. Hope she's better tomorrow!
We were photographing macro for photography today when I thought it would be a good idea to take pictures of people's eyes.
This is my eye and I tried to open it wide so you could see all the little flecks in it. I also accidently turned the flash on which blinded me.

P.S.S. My eyelashes look kinda gross. :S
P.S.S.S one of my strands of hair got in the way and kinda ruined the whole shot. :(

There are 6 photos from this series...which I'm calling "Scared at Bedtime". This little guy is so sensitive. He really gets scared easily. Even cuddly tv characters like "Big Bird" scare him! So here he is afraid of naptime in his crib. The story behind this series---The postman comes around his naptime on a motorbike and it makes a really loud noise. He cringes when he hears it. So I put him in our bed this day. I think he might have played it up so he could STAY in our bed for naptime. He won! I just loved the emotion in these shots. I have been meaning to do more emotion shots and I'm really happy with how these turned out.
It's almost 2:00 AM, and for time to pass quicker I thought I could try making some photos.
This one gave me an idea for a project, that I think I'll start this weekend.

Ryan is my little brother, who just turned 21 on the 16th. He has autism, and has come a long way since he was diagnosed when he was two. He recently took a week long trip on a plane by himself to come see me in Nevada. I took the time to shoot him in my studio.
I asked him to make a different emotion for each color. For purple he did scared, and preceded to give me these three poses, moving himself to each side all on his own.
About Ryan: When Ryan was 2, he was diagnosed with Autism. He did elementary school with a teacher's aide, middle school in slow learning classes, and his first two years of high school in the same slow learning classes. His last two years of high school he was integrated into regular mainstream high school classes. After high school he did continued education at the career center to learn special skills for jobs and life as an adult. He now lives with my mother and stepfather, where he is often in charge of his own schedule, food, and hygiene, among other things. He has spent weekends on his own, capable of cooking with the stove and oven and watching the house on his own.

The colour rendition of the new Kodak Portra 400 is hard to beat. This shot is straight out of the camera and scanned with no post processing.
Love working with the square format, but more importantly loving the depth of field of medium format.
This was shot on the Yashica Mat 124G TLR and scanned on the Canon CanoScan 9000F.
I'm looking forward to using this film with a portrait shoot sometime. It's just such a nice film to work with and very forgiving (as I discovered on a very lowly lit chicken coup).
