Elephant Garlic Scape
Starting earlier this week, scapes (unopened bulbil-pods) have been popping up out to the tops of each garlic plant. These scapes we pick by hand almost daily over the course of a few weeks. By picking the scapes, we encourage the plant’s energy to grow bigger bulbs.
Our favorite preparation is to steam the scapes till tender and serve with butter, lemon and white pepper. They are very mild tasting when steamed, slightly artichoke like in texture and flavor.

'Scapes' is een servies wat door de gebruiker telkens opnieuw geassembleerd kan worden waardoor steeds nieuwe composities (landschappen) ontstaan.
Van origine geïnspireerd op een vergezicht waarbij heuvels in de verte in een soort gradient steeds lichter van kleur worden.
Het servies bestaat uit 5 delen die bedoelt zijn om 5 gangen op te serveren, te beginnen met het onderste (witte) bord. Naarmate de gangen vorderen stapelt het servies zich op. Zo ontstaat er door het eetgedrag van de gebruiker een heel persoonlijk 'eetlandschap'
De stukken kunnen ook met 2, 3 of 4 gestapeld worden afhankelijk van de gelegenheid.

A mountain-scape I'm painting on the large wall of my apartment. Just the mountains done so far, but I'm adding a graduated sky and a meadow/pine tree foreground. As I'm going to have a fondue/snowboard themed party on Sunday I thought I'd do something, and ended up painting this.
So I can live in the mountains all year round.
