Finding myself in possession of my very own CaM ghost head, I decided to tackle the issue of the hard plates set into the head, which is something that bothers me quite a lot and has made me hesitant to get any of the hard-headed CaMs until now. After i extricated the hard plate with the help of my nifty X-acto, i found that there actually is a small bit more of soft vinyl scalp beneath the hard plate. I could probably bifurcate the two, once i acquire another test subject.

Anywho, I then found myself in want of a patch for this gaping hole in my poor ghostie's scalp, and found what I needed in the head of a Barbie! I carefully cut a perfectly sized portion from the Barbie scalp and fused it to my ghost's head with gel superglue. I am excited to see how it will hold up to being rooted.

i definitely love the contrast between hair and makeup <3

Built as Texas and Pacific GP35 606 in 1964, Kiamichi GP35m 3802 found its way into the RailAmerica family who reassigned her to the Otter Tail Valley in Minnesota and has now apparently cast her away. She somehow found her way onto a BNSF train heading through Savanna dead in tow, most likely heading for the Quad Cities and a new home at NRE's Silvis facility. If she ever leaves, it most likely will be as a Gen-Set.

Bangs need restyling when glued back on.

Mom got me to cut her hair for Locks of Love (www.locksoflove.org). This is the creepy-looking ponytail she got to send them.

I loooooooove it! (and I'm so glad it''s over lol) All I have to do now is give it a hair treatment & style it then Pinkie will be ready to go!

This is the second mohair scalp I’m making. I’ve been working the thatch a little different this time, poking holes at an angle depending on which way the plug is meant to lie. It works wonders for getting a well-behaved part with criss-crossing plugs to hide the scalp. Hopefully it also reduces the poofiness a bit.

The technique is prone to hole collisions, but I think it's worth it.

Also I thread each plug on a long needle, instead of using a crochet hook. I don’t think my plugs are _overly_ thick, but I would need a 1.25 or 1.50 mm hook to get an entire plug through. It seems too risky.

To get the plug to exit in the correct location, I make the hole with an awl from the outside first, and then put the needle through from the inside at the same angle. If the area isn’t covered in plugs already, with good light I can see the hole - particularly if I only just pulled out the awl. So far I've used the awl all the time, but if the plug placement is less important, I assume it's quicker to make the hole with the needle.

As I’m just starting out with this, I would love to hear it if anybody has any tips that they’d like to share.

It's amazing quality, worth every penny and I cannot recommend it enough.

I'm hoping to accomplish all my scalp prep tonight for the coming week. I have to have a roadmap or I root off course ... bad.

First session attempt at steel wool photography, maybe got a bit ambitious on this one as I burnt my scalp. Hey, we live and learn! Look forward to more outings with this technique.

If they arrested every ticket scalper on a game day, the City of Minneapolis would have to build a new jail. And so this street corner commerce goes on with many customers willing to pay exorbitant prices for seats.

Her lashes came today! Yay! Now she needs her scalp glued down and we can go play outside tomorrow if the weather cooperates.

I think the circus theme fits Gretchen well. Maybe she needs some circusy eyelids.

This red-figured kylix fragment is attributed to Onesimos as the painter and signed by Euphronios as the potter. This wine cup predates a report by Herodotus (484-424 BCE) that Scythian warriors living north of the Black Sea affixed scalps to the bridles of their horses or sewed them together to make garments.
