Scale models or toy boats from Lines Bros variously sold over the years under the brands of 'Penguin', 'Triang' and 'Scalex'. From the Meccano Magazine August 1954. A simple Purchasing Power Calculator would say the relative value of 45 shillings – the price of the ‘Pretoria Castle’ is now £53.75 – so quite an expensive toy or scale model. another collembolan and you can see a feature that certains collembolans have (not just for Butterflies or Tricophterans:P)... scales!!! :) It offers indeed a protection against dissecation. I think this collembolan is a Tomoceridae collembolan. Not sure if the iridiscence visible here is an artefact or it is real. ;)
EDIT This is indeed a Heteromurus major. Not Tomoceridae as I thought. See Frans Janssens explanation - one great expertise in collembolans in the world. ;) He has a great website - www.collembola.org (I'm reading all stuff as I can)
Lots of exciting stuff going on in the scale shop. Lots of new videos coming up soon and lots already posted @
The Huong Pagoda (Vietnamese: Chùa Hương) is a vast complex of Buddhist temples and shrines built into the limestone Huong Tich mountains. It is the site of a religious festival which draws large numbers of pilgrims from across Vietnam. The centre of the Huong Temple lies in Huong Son Commune, My Duc District, former Ha Tay Province (now Hanoi). The centre of this complex is the Perfume Temple, also known as Chua Trong (Inner Temple), located in Huong Tich Cave.
