The Scales dates back to the 1700's and was once a coaching inn for the city.In 1740 it was the first Freemasons lodge and they met here until 1813.Known as the Swan and Scales in the 19th century it was used as weighing rooms for horse races that was held in Lichfield.On 16th December 1993 it was proposed that the Scales would change its name to R.H Fletcher but due to public pressure the brewery had a change of heart and kept the name The Scales.
All our staff are trained to the highest level and will be happy to serve you with any of our cask ales, lagers from around the world or hot and cold drinks. The Scales is the only bar in Lichfield to be open till 4am every weekend and the best entertainment bar in the city.

Description: Balance and weights set. This set belonged to Edouard Cafler. The set is contained in a wooden box with rounded corners. The box has two metal hook latches at the front of the box. The interior of the box contains the balance set, which consists of a metal balance beam with a dial at the centre, and a suspension ring at the top. Attached with green cord to either end of the balance are two brass dishes. There are compartments in the base of the box which contains the balance, and also a set of 14 brass weights ranging from 1 gram to 200 grams. There are complementary compartments in the top of the box to hold the weights in place. Handwritten on the underside of the lid of the box is a list of conversions from grammes to pounds and ounces.

From Solido I custom made and repainted this diecast car about 7-8 years ago and now I want to complete it but I have to make or find a new dashboard the original got lost and maybe some new wheels and tires.
The General Store at Norris Museum. Never knew they had a museum there either. It is so amazing what you will find if you just get out and drive. Hubby and I went out for a motorcycle ride/photo opportunity. Had a great day finding all this great stuff within a few miles area.

This is the scale my grandmother has always had. I like the graphic on it. Very classic. I kinda wonder where she got it. You would never find a scale today with this much personality.

At this point the plant was put with a heated grow mat.
First leaves that were stuck in the stem.
They had to be cut out to loosen them.
This released some pressure on the stem enabling the tender first leaves push past the obstruction
These scales are not contemporaneous to Wilson, but they were donated by Ron Day, who was a reference librarian at the Library for over 30 years.
