This is a LEGO 1:9 scale model of a 1948 G John Deere modified for tractor pulling.
The John Deere G was produced as John Deere's largest row-crop tractor from 1938 to 1952. Today they are common among John Deere enthusiasts and are often restored and driven in parades. But who cares about pretty tractors? That's why we have tractor pulling. It's very much like drag racing, only instead of trying to get to the end the fastest, you try to get the closest to the end.
This model is a painstakingly accurate model of the G, from the taper of the hood to the slight kink in the frame. I also included an accurate clutch lever mechanism and custom-made front tires made from official LEGO wheels with LEGO tank treads wrapped around them. Another feature is an actual working engine for this tractor, driven by the right rear wheel. I would have preferred the gears be inside the tractor, but they didn't fit. This model measures 15.75 inches long and 8 inches wide.
