firma Z-Modelbau Dr. Andresas Scheibe Duitsland met motor, handgebouwd in messing

This was supposed to happen last week, but had to be deferred until this week. As it goes, it needs to be deferred a little longer.

The players in this picture are my old man in the centre, Stan, Stan the Boiler Man on the right and Sean the engineer on the left. The star in the centre is my old man's loco, finally finished after what must be at least fifteen years in the making!

Though complete, the loco has never been steamed. The first steaming requires the presence of Stan. If you've ever seen a boiler explosion, you'll understand the importance of Stan's job. His experience and expertise is what makes sure that there's no danger here.

As it goes, Stan was not a happy man. As with all new builds there's a few things that aren't quite right, including a hand pump and a couple of valves.

This means that we need a bit of snagging maintenance before we can go to full steam. Hopefully that will come in a few weeks and I'll be able to capture it for you.
