Abandoned sauna in kirkkonummi. Need
wading in the lake about 50 meters and waiting 2 hours for sunset but i get lots off mosquito friends! :)

An abandoned sauna that's tilted on its side. Legend has it has been abandoned for years ago and left in the mercy of nature.
Sauna is a sacred place for the Finns. In the heat of the sauna you can clean up and relax. There you can chat and share your thoughts with your family and friends. The best place for a sauna is by a lake. It’s nice to plop to the cool water after taking a hot sauna, where usual temperature is about 70-90 degrees Celsius.
I used LEDs in the stove to create the fire illusion.

Das Photo zeigt das Bullauge in dem Waitzschen Turm in Bad Nauheim in Hessen.
Der Waitzsche Turm ist renoviert und im Sockel ist eine Sauna installiert worden.
Der Turm ist nur noch über die Saunaanlage zu erreichen.
Das Bullauge zeigt bis zur Turmspitze den hohlen Turm mit einer Notleiter.

The photo shows the porthole in the Waitz Tower in Bad Nauheim in Hesse.
The Waitz Tower has been renovated and a sauna has been installed in the base.
The tower can only be reached via the sauna facility.
The porthole shows the hollow tower with an emergency ladder up to the top of the tower.

Took my cold camera into the hot sauna and it became very fast lot of condensation in the lens.
But an interesting effect.

I gather you can rent this place to hold parties and whatnot. I have a complex relationship with saunas, and the slab of concrete doesn't appeal to me. Luckily the sunset landscape does!
Took a 22 kilometer walk to photograph this lovely little building in Kirkkonummi, Southern Finland. When I finally made it on location, i sat there for two hours wondering what fate had to do with people who used to bath in this now deserted sauna.
