158715 grinds up Borthwick Bank with an Edinburgh - Tweedbank service. The Borders Railway is very twisty as can be seen.
With no services running on Christmas Day, the opportunity was taken to capture Sanders four operating centres. In this shot of their Cornish Way, North Walsham depot identifiable vehicles from left to right as we look are East Lancs bodied VDL DB250LF type 107 - PM03 HER “ZEUS”, Wright bodied Volvo B7RLE type 501 - DK09 DZD, Wright bodied VDL SB200 type 407 - YJ59 AYY, Wright bodied Volvo B7RLE type 514 - HF54 HGC, East Lancs bodied VDL DB250LF type 102 - YJ55 WPA, Jonckheere bodied Volvo B12BT type 902 - OGR 647 and presumably with no room at the Inn, Van Hool bodied VDL SB4000 type 803 - 537 FN is parked up outside the yard. Due to the low winter sun, not the best shot I have ever taken.

Sanders DAF SB3000 Van Hool Alizee 3990 ME started out registered M640 RCP with a shortlived operator called Aslink, based near Doncaster and then did the rounds of some of Hughes DAF's hire customers before settling down to a fifteen year stay with Sanders. When seen in Dover on 8th September, 2001, it was not yet ready for a sedate life cruising around Norfolk preferring the distant delights of Lake Garda.

When I took a holiday in East Anglia during August 1994 a day visit to Norwich was arranged in order to photograph the local bus scene. On reflection perhaps, the most interesting operator encountered was Sanders Coaches based at Holt in North Norfolk. This operator ran an extensive network of local services throughout the region primarily with Duple and Plaxton bodied Bedford coaches. Seen here in Norwich on August 10th is 'Supreme 1V' bodied SJI 1616 working a journey from Holt and Cromer. New to Felix, Stanley and originally registered FRR 686V it was purchased from Torr of Gelding in 1991.
