Pharoah Sanders, American jazz saxophonist. performing at the 'We Out Here' Festival, UK. A member of John Coltrane's groups of the mid-1960s and still blessing us with his unique gift. Capturing moments like this is why we do what we do. Pharoah in an almost biblical pose which personified the whole performance, he is looking to the skies and the universe is acknowledging the energy.

Currently popular on the internet now, memes of American politician Bernie Sanders in various locations looking very cosily dressed at Joe Biden's inauguration! I suffer from cold hands in winter - if only I could get a pair of mittens like this trendsetter!!
(Apologies for not crediting the creators of the other memes in my picture)

Another Sanders Eclipse came in the form of 516, a later 57 plate version with the repositioned emergency door. It carries a Nottingham area registration plate so I was hoping it would have some local history, but it was actually new to Lancashire United, so why on earth it's got an 'FJ' prefix I've no idea.

This scene is from a recent men's volleyball match between BYU (ranked #3) and the University of Hawaii (ranked #4) in the country. BYU eventually won in straight sets. The Smith Fieldhouse on the BYU campus is always an exciting venue for a volleyball match, with large, energetic crowds. In this photo, Brenden Sander gets very high with his tongue hanging out to notch a kill over the Hawaii blockers.

Here we have a second slightly nearer the camera view of Sanders former Nottingham City Transport Scania N94UD East Lancs Omnidekka type number 123 - YN07 EYY which is seen passing The Crown PH at Banningham, as it operates the above school day only short working of service 18 from North Walsham to Aylsham. Regular followers will know that the gate to the right leads to Banningham Church, which is dedicated to St Botolph. Note also the wall mounted Victorian Post Box. The scene, taken from this angle, has featured in several of my previous uploads, but since the last occasion on 8th December 2016 as we can clearly see from this shot, the trees in the foreground to right and left have grown so much that their branches almost meet. Although the bus is partially obscured, when spring arrives, a shot from this exact spot will probably be impossible.
Although an example was noted on this journey a couple of years back, the appearance of a double decker on service 18 had always been something of an extremely rare occurrence. However, a duty change introduced from Monday 6th February 2023 sees one of the three* North Walsham depot based deckers allocated to the above journey on a regular basis. As a result this is the first time that I have captured one at any location while working a service 18 journey. It will be recalled that Sanders double deck worked Norwich City FC service 3 follows much of the service 18 route over the North Walsham to Aylsham section, but it doesn’t deviate from the B1145 to serve The Crown bus stop.
* With the introduction of new Volvo B8/MCV Evoras on the revamped service X55 North Walsham - Norwich service from Monday 2nd January 2023 the number of double deck vehicles at North Walsham depot has since been reduced to just three. Currently they are all former Nottingham Scania N94UD East Lancs Omnidekka examples 115/123 & 124. However, apart from covering North Walsham to Carrow Road bound Norwich City FC services 3 & 11 they are rarely used on Saturday & Sunday.

The other Sanders Omnidekka I saw was 117, a short wheelbase version new to Reading Buses in 2006. It sets off from Norwich along Castle Meadow on 19.7.23 with an X44 to Sheringham.

Sanders Coaches recently purchased 4 new 12.2m(?) Evoras to upgrade their X55 service. A nice touch of branding on the side makes these buses look fairly nice, seen here pulling into Norwich bus station.

Fort Sanders (what's left of it) is located just south of Laramie, Wyoming. According to the historical marker erected at the sight, the fort started out as Fort John Buford but was then renamed in honor of Brigadier General William P. Sanders. The fort was in service from 1866 to 1882. I believe this is part of the fort's "guard house", which was reportedly in quite regular use.

To think I came all the way to Norwich, and what should I run into but one of the old Omnidekkas off the 36! This upload is all about the Sanders buses I saw in Norwich, which only amounts to eleven different vehicles across the day but they do operate a very interesting fleet, with buses of all different sorts and ages.
As I stated above, this particular example originated from Nottingham City Transport, being one of my locals when new in 2007 for route 36. It's now one of several former NCT Omnidekkas operated by Sanders - although I think at some point they managed to set fire to one of them.
