These were taken in the Vorhees' wonderful garden as samples for the Art and Garden Tour (22 July 2007). I will be giving a talk as part of the event (at 4:30pm) on taking photos in gardens.
They were taken between 4:30 and 6pm, so the light was a little harsh.
These are unedited and uncleaned, and I have posted all of the 260 photos I shot there to provide people with a sense of what the entire session was like and to make it clear that I took a lot of duds to get a few really nice shots.
she tried to lure the cat over to her. but decided she was happy where she was.
this session of bouncing to the beat (which she will do nonstop for a very long time) was followed with a rousing rendition of "ring of fire" that i missed filming because i pressed the wrong button. i tried to recreate it, but she was over the song after one run through.
also, aaaaagh i'm getting a michigander accent.
MWMO staff create composite stormwater samples to send to the Met Council laboratory for testing. Samples are collected using automatic sampler equipment on a flow-paced basis, meaning a bottle is filled each time a specified amount of water has flowed past the sensor. Once collected, the bottles are composited by a monitoring specialist by pouring an equal amount of water from each sampler bottle into a bottle for laboratory submittal.
today we took samples from different points in the storm sewer to figure out where the most e.coli is coming from. once we isolate the contamination between two manholes, we can dye test buildings to find which fixtures are erroneously connected to the storm sewer.
