Matthias celebrates American Thanksgiving together with his crew mates on board the International Space Station during his Cosmic Kiss. He posted these images to his social media on 25 November with the caption:
One of the best things about international collaboration? Sharing international celebrations and culture 🎉 I'm thankful for all my crew mates up here on the International Space Station and everyone supporting our mission from #Earth 🌎 #HappyThanksgiving #ThanksgivingDinner #CosmicKiss

In years past manufactures were very nice in providing small sample packets of their products. Grocers or at exhibitions were one place that they could be obtained, the other was sending off to the manufacturer for a sample.
Due to the high price of postage today, the cost of sending the item is more than the cost of the product, it is far easier for a manufacturer to simply allow the potential customer to download a voucher and go and get a free full size pack from the supermarket.
Interesting little collectables are no more.

For my month in The Great White North Bee 2 I am sending my fellow bee members a variety of strips of Kaffe Fassett woven stipes and a couple of squares of a yellow shot cotton. I am asking them to make two Improv Strip Blocks.
I am asking for 16.5" blocks rather than the 12.5" block in the tutorial (and will provide the instructions for the different size.) The centre square I am providing is 4.5" to account for the larger block size.
My colleagues Magnus and Therese are sampling the biofilm on the granite walls of Kungsträdgården metro station. It was from samples from this wall we found the new species Bacillicladium lobatum and Bradymyces graniticola, but this time it was somewhat staged for Peter to film for the evening news covering our paper published the same day describing the two fungi.
Vanilla and Chocolate cupcakes with swiss meringue buttercream and fondant. I'm trying out some designs for a friends wedding. I'm in no way a professional, i'm doing it as a gift for my friend.
I have to say that my inspiration has come from looking at Bev (Sugarbloom Cupcakes) Photostream, she makes the most wondefully decorated cupcakes.
