"This is the moment when you're holding a vinyl record of old music and there's a sampler on the table. The process of searching and recording, slicing and playing pads.

Every time it's like you're blind, start listening to something you've never heard before; funk, jazz, pop. Trying to find what you need. It's like putting together a mosaic. And gradually, a new one picture appears from the old parts"

This is based on the Blocks & Stripes quilt by Ashley at Film in the Fridge. When I read through her tutorial, I saw that she had laid her fabrics out on white and I loved that look. I intend to make this using Heather Ross/Munki fabrics in a larger size, but while waiting for more solids to arrive in my mail box I used scraps to make this little 20" x 30" quilt. The proportions won't be exactly the same on the larger one, but it gives me some idea of what the finished quilt will look like.

Sewed up a little (24" x 36") sample quilt for my class

Sweet pea and her sister-in-law sampling flavored moonshine. Ole Smoky Moonshine opened for business in July of 2010. I think they did 50,000 cases that year. This year they expect to produce 900,000 cases. Quite a success story.

Having been truely inspired by the cupcakes I have seen on Flickr, I wanted to try my own. These were made as samples for a customer, who ordered - so it was well worth it!! Really enjoyed making these. Vanilla cakes
