Robin Rickel Vroegop packs up her hunting and camping gear as the 2008 St. Vincent NWR Sambar Hunt concludes. Robin, who has volunteered on this hunt in the past, got lucky and was drawn to participate in this special opportunity hunt. If her karma holds, she hopes to get drawn again in 2010 (hunters may not participate in consecutive years) and bring along her husband, Mike, also a volunteer for USFWS.

The Lok Kawi Wildlife Park is managed by the Sabah Wildlife Department. Occupying an area of 280 acres it is one of the largest wildlife parks in Malaysia.
"Rusa sambar or Sambar deer (Rusa unicolor) is a large deer native to the Indian Subcontinent and Southeast Asia. Listed as IUCN Vulnerable species." "
