During two lockdowns I have walked in this valley at least once a day but somehow two days are never the same. Over the years I have seen it in snow, frost, rain and drought. I saw the first leaves of Spring and the last leaves of Autumn. I have spotted nineteen types of orchid. I have seen the first hazel catkins. I have seen the fields ploughed, harrowed, sown and harvested. I watched a lake off to the right being built and one time I saw a hot air balloon land.

I have seen eagles, red kites, buzzards, herons, hoopoes, egrets and kestrels to name a few. I have seen wild boar, deer, hare, coypu, rabbits, Western whip snakes and salamanders.

What makes it special is I rarely see people!

Wishing everyone a very Happy and very Healthy and Prosperous New Year.

This guy payed absolutely no attention to me at all folks, and my presence there did not bother him at all, where normally it would.

This guy caught me by a total surprise, just like falling instead of a launch, and this is the very best I could do. Tomorrow I will start a series I'm very proud of, and one I've never been able to get in 20-years, so I'm very happy indeed.

Thank you for stopping by, it is always so very much appreciated.

As you can see folks I almost missed it because they bare so so fast, and give no warning when they are ready to go, they just do it, and I'm old and not fast enough.

Disclaimer: Before you think I am a retired Federal employee that somehow became wealthy you need to know, my son takes us all on these trips. He's the Managing Partner of a Venture Capital Firm in the Silicon Valley. Right place, right time. In 2018, as my wife (his mother) was recovering from her cancer and the effects of chemo he insisted on hosting the family in Punta Mita, Mexico. It turned out to be such a great time, he did it again in 2020. We are now looking forward to 2022;

Well everyone this will be the last predation image in this series, a couple more of the ending and promise this will be the last in the series. Thanking you so much for your patience and giving this guy a "A" ++++++++++++++++ for his valiant effort. A total joy to photography and to show a small part of y experience with this Hawk and Snake.

Thanks to all who visit, comment and all the very kind words, much appreciated.

A bird of open countryside with scattered bushes. It's recent decline means it is now a red list species. This was taken on the chalk hillsides near Cerne in Dorset where fortunately it is still relatively frequent. Once common near my home on the edge of Weymouth, it has now virtually disappeared.

Many thanks to everyone that views and comments on my images - very much appreciated.
