Now for a detail shot, a closer look at the shed's siding... fine fitting and pure craftsmanship here! This siding has been here a while and has become a sculpture! Even with the decades of weathering, the traces of saw milling still show. No S4S here; no planers were used on this lumber. Advanced weathering and buffeting has loosened space around the nail heads. It's lucky it was cut from ponderosa from the hills instead of the local cotttonwood. The name "cottonwood" tells all.

We know that this place was an early Hygiene-west area ranch because of a Beaverslide haying rake found one shed over. It's across from the old Shupe homestead along Hygiene Road. West on the county road is an intersection with Foothills Highway and easy access to Lefthand Road and mountain mining camps thus the reason for local haying. Hay in the mountains fed the livestock used for transportation and the mules used for mining industry. This rough-sawn lumber siding on this shed is extraordinary and must be original to the ranch. Large tracts of land were available to ranching along this area south of the St. Vrain river, well before so many gravel pits. Local highways have many "No St. Vrain Mining" signs. Any more gravel mining will remove even more land from production and the tax roles. No big deal, we can plant a lot more people in the valley and feed them with food from somewhere... from somewhere, an industrial plant probably.

There were blank skies near Longmont then so I captured some shots without the sky. This is obviously after the St.Vrain flood rolled through the valley and this shed. I turned north onto 61st and parked at Ronnie's then walked over to the old abandoned Ramey Place. It's clear that the flood really scoured the ground through here. If you look left, you'll find the new roof on the old Boulder County un-Open Space Ramey house as if it had any value. Any gathering sky suits me; I still keep an eye on this place. I will have to go through them and weed out more also-rans.

This looks a lot like the America that Orangemen would like to bring back to America. Wages? Wages have not improved since Ronnie 666 got his massive tax cut for the rich and increased the deficit more than it had been from Washington until then. I worked away at Ramey. I would think that the pastures beyond, (on Boulder unOpen Space Land), would be productive enough to either graze or to mow. It does look brown in the distance but I bet cattle could find the best grasses.

Running on the now removed double track section to Sandown, 4-VEC 044 with Driving Motor Car S4S at the rear, was departing from Brading with a Ryde Pier Head to Shanklin seven-car service on July 25th 1978. S4S was built by MCW in 1934, its former London Transport number was 3702. Following overhaul and repainting into Rail Blue at Acton Works, the car was transferred to the Isle of Wight in July 1966. Following the arrival of 'new' Class 483 units in 1989, S4S was withdrawn on September 25th 1989. It crossed the Solent three days later on September 28th and was sent by road to Vic Berry at Leicester for scrapping.

In 1987 the fourth generation of the Esprit was unveiled, redesigned by Trevor Stevans. A new Lotus patented process was introduced to create the new body, called the VARI (Vacuum Assisted Resin Injection) process, which offered more advantages than the previous hand laid process. Kevlar reinforcement was added to the roof and sides for roll-over protection,] resulting in an increase of the Esprit's torsional rigidity by 22 percent

The S4 Turbo engined car produced 228bhp giving a top speed of 163mph and a 0-60mph time of 4.7 seconds.

In 1989, the Esprit was again improved with the GM multi-port, electronic fuel injection system and the addition of a water to air intercooler, which Lotus has named the Chargecooler, producing the SE (Special Equipment). This inline-four engine was known as the Type 910S. Horsepower was pushed up to 264 with 280 available on overboost and zero to sixty miles per hour times reduced to 4.7 seconds with a top speed of over 160 mph (260 km/h). Several modifications were made to the body kit as well, like side skirts which are parallel to the body, five air ducts in the front air dam, wing mirrors from the Citroën CX and the addition of a rear wing.

Along with the SE, Lotus produced the little seen Esprit S, a midrange turbocharged car offering fewer appointments and 228 hp (170 kW), as well as the standard turbo still offering 215 hp (160 kW). The N/A and lower-powered turbo were cancelled after 1990, and the S in 1991.

The S4 was succeeded in 1994 by the S4 Sport (S4s). The most obvious external change from the S4 was the addition of a rear wing from the Sport 300. The engine was still a 2.2 L 910-series, but with performance-enhancing modifications that included enlarged inlet ports, cylinder head modifications, a re-calibrated ECM and a revised turbocharger. Engine output rose to 305 PS (224 kW; 301 hp) with a top speed of 168mph
