Would have looked better with a tripod and an ND filter I'm sure. More and more these days I'm just going out with my 24mm fast lens as it's very versatile.

The pipework down at the Blast Furnace is gradually turning a lovely shade of rust!

Mono and screen printing on cotton fabric using natural Indigo and gum tragacanth. The fabric was then rust dyed using old farm machinery parts.

Continuing along the vein of super long exposure over water (my last quite a few uploads have been of similar themes, and even though I had a long break, I am back working the ND filter)

Saw the cloudy day, checked the tide chart and decided to head to the Quincy\Squantum\Wollaston area

I am always looking for derelict structures near water and didn't have a clue this was so close and easily accessible.

The seawall has collapsed in many places and where still standing, the inner rusted structure is exposed.

certainly a place to revisit.

I was giddy with the possibilities and maybe I was rusty, couldn't get satisfactory compositions.

These old WW1 rusted barbed wire reels so closely resemble a birds nest, especially the ones with fallen old leaves in the middle. One one hand looking like an item designed to protect and shelter new life, yet in reality designed to harm intruders and in reality the source of many lost lives no doubt. Although I suppose it also protects from an enemy.

Sometimes these characteristic rust-colored circles form on painted iron sheets. In this case the surface is vertical.

1st title of the series. Just happend walk by a rusty bar on the side of an old property and someone had created faces. Snapped this coz it seemed a bit different to a rusted something or other. I should have moved my focus point slightly to the right, so that i was over the eye.

Very rusty truck that of course provides tons of photographic opportunities.

I played with manual settings to get a nice DOF.
