‘Rules for Living’ premiered at the National Theatre, London, in March 2015 featuring Miles Jupp, Stephen Mangan, Deborah Findlay and Claudie Blakely.

Everyone creates their own coping strategies or rules for living. But what happens when an extended family gathers in the kitchen for a traditional Christmas and they each follow those rules, rigidly? In Sam Holcroft's theatrically playful, dark comedy - there's really no place to hide.

Lots of rules when you take a day trip...

Gull Lake sunset on our dock

This photo shows rule of thirds because the leaf is off on the bottom right hand corner of the photography. The focus of this photo is not directly in the center and instead off to the side which draws more attention to a particular corner of the photo and makes it more visually appealing.

Last minute read-through of the rules

"Do not spit saliva or phlegm, or discard cigarette stubs, or litter by throwing dirt or rubbish in public areas, on the streets, or on the ground. Offenders will be subject to a fine of a maximum of 2,000 baht" - Vadhana District Office.

There is an obvious effort to prohibit littering, however, these rules are seldom followed.

the hand is in the lower corner, making this rule of thirds. also the wine glass.
