A stunning marquise shaped ring with a symmetrical cluster of round brilliant cut diamonds acting as a frame to a row of five glowing rubies. During this part of the Victorian period rubies were seen as the most precious of gems. The golden band and setting are carved with extra detail.
Pattern - Ruby Red by Anna Mikuskova (Knitty, Fall 2009)
Yarn - Wollmeise Sockenwolle 100%, Ballerina.
Needles - 3.25mm for hem, 3.75mm for body.

My first attempt at NaKniSweMo - my progress on the afternoon of Day 3. Alternating three skeins, as there are slight variations between them and I'd hate to end up with a really obvious difference in colour at the skein changes :-(
Just starting the lattice band ... so far, so good!
We had a good mail day today - four new tops for the girls and an outfit for Alexisbears' Sundae too!
Alis got this cute polka dot top from lalatroop. (pants by me, shoes rubyred)
This is our daughter's chicken named Ruby Red. Ruby was fascinated by my pants leg and kept pecking at it until I finally had to shoo her away.
Red quartz beads are nestled between white round rock quartz glass beads. Black glass beveled beads are used at the hook that measure 1/4 inches. Tiny black and silver beads are used as accents in this simple pattern. The round silver ball spacers add sparkle to this lanyard. The lanyard measures 17 inches long and would be a lovely teacher gift.
Azaeline is a big fan of Jules Verne. She dreams of traveling by balloon, go around the world..

A three-day-old calf saw me looking at him, he froze and started staring. his mum saw that and slowly walked up to him, nosed him on the bum and he turned away immediately. it's interesting to watch how they communicate with their young ones :)
