Surely these have been bred from the Cooktown Orchid - the botanical name of the Cooktown orchid is now Vappodes phalaenopsis - I rather liked the old name, Dendrobium bigibbum :-)

I finally did all the touristy stuff in Chattanooga...Handheld exposure. It still blows my mind that someone found this! There is no external opening to this cave, it was found by accident while drilling into a known cave.

Ruby's First Birthday Party

As soon as I found out my niece was on the way, I knew my sister would apply her creativity to the kid's life. Case in point: Ruby's first birthday.

Full of Ruby Red snacks and decorations, the party was fun for the kids, the family, and even the dog. Seriously, it was a lot of fun, and Ruby was at her adorable best.

Ruby's Redondo Beach closed on Sept 8, this was a farewell cruise. This cruise was usually Fridays and lasted 17yrs.

This picture was taken at the Simi Golf Course. Ruby told me that she wanted to tell a fisherman a secret. Very out of character for her. I said OK. She asked him if she could use his fishing pole. He gave her Ruth's pole. His 4 year old daughter was killed in 1990 by a drunk driver. He called his pastor and asked for a prayer of gratitude as Ruby fished.
