Ruby Lovebirds
2009
acrylic on canvas
41 x 32.5"
I have two Phoenix Glass "Lovebird" vases. This one in ruby glass and another in tricolor on white. The birds in this rendition are a little lost to the camera because they areover and under. The gel over that they are caarved into is very clear and shiney, so it's hard to capture all the layers. Loved painting this ruby glass so much I painted 3 of this same set up in various sizes. I'm still discovering effects the self leveling getl can achieve. It's great fun to work with.
