Tijdens de nacht van 20 op 21 oktober 2019 stonden we in Kortrijk klaar om een legertrein van Lineas te fotograferen. Nadat dit ondanks veel stress toch goed verlopen was, kropen we onder de wol. Rond de middag van 21 oktober zou in Schaarbeek station de presentatie van de Expo van Paul Delvaux doorgaan. Hetgeen wat extra interessant was, was het feit dat de vers-bestickerde Desiro met schilderijen van Paul Delvaux en de fraaie stoomloc 29.013 hierbij aanwezig waren. Daarom werd er rond 10u in West-Vlaanderen naar huis vertrokken met een tussenstop in Schaarbeek.
Aangekomen in Schaarbeek, en al snel kon ik twee mannen zien die zich bezig hielden met de 29.013 op te stoken. Snel werden enkele foto's gemaakt van de prachtloc. Een personeelslid kon me vertellen dat ze de stoomloc op woensdagavond 23 oktober van Schaarbeek naar Henegouwen zouden transporteren. De loc zou dan enkele uren op spoor 3 met brandende lichten stilstaan, omdat er die avond nog vele 'exclusieve' genodigden waaronder RTBF een kijkje mochten nemen in het museum. Dit leek me zeer interessant. De bestickerde Desiro stond ondertussen ook al op foto aan de inrit van Brussel-Noord, dus werd er maar huiswaarts gekeerd.
Woensdag 23 oktober brak aan. Ik had via een bestuurder van TUC-rail vernomen dat hij de Sandite-trein die dag met 55'ers reed. Omdat mijn foto eerder eens op een andere dag in het water viel (omdat mijn lens niet goed vastzat...) en omdat het zo een mooi fotopunt was, werd er nog maar eens in de lantaarnpaal gekropen, wat nu wel succes opleverde. Ik was voldaan en keerde naar huis om iets te eten, alvorens een nachtfoto van de 29.013 te nemen.
De avond viel, en om 18u zat ik dan op mijn gebruikelijke S8-trein richting Brussel. Na een reis van een dik halfuur kwam ik dan aan in Schaarbeek. Al snel kon ik onze nationale trots op spoor 3 zien pronken. Helaas stond de 'stomer' niet ideaal voor een nachtfoto. Na een kwartier wachten reed de stomer zo'n 50 meter vooruit, en nu stond hij perfect! En zo was onze eerste nachtfoto van de 29.013 een feit.
Op de foto staat de 29.13 als paradepaard aan perron 3 om de bezoekers van de nieuwe expo te verwelkomen. Dit was tevens de allerlaatste inzet van deze loc in 2019. Later op de avond zouden de 7734 en 7741 de 29.013 en zijn 2 L-rijtuigen overbrengen als trein 23770 naar de loods in Haine-Saint-Pierre.

Depuis l’annonce du décès d’Alysson, les témoignages d’affection inondent les réseaux sociaux. Amis, confrères barbiers et coiffeurs, indépendants, inconnus, et même politiques, se joignent pour rendre hommage à la jeune barbière. En août dernier, en pleine crise sanitaire, cette Liégeoise de 24 ans avait ouvert son barber shop, le Hooterscitting, dans la rue Saint-Gilles. Un rêve pour elle qui devenait réalité. Mais quelques mois plus tard, elle ne s’en sortait plus et a mis fin à ses jours.
Début de semaine, une fresque à l’image d’Alysson est apparue à Liège. Le portrait, qui a été réalisé dans le bâtiment abandonné du Forem, rue Bois d’Avroy, a beaucoup tourné sur les réseaux sociaux. Son père a longtemps essayé de trouver qui en était l’auteur afin de le remercier. Il s’agit du graffeur liégeois Hyer, un ancien client du salon où travaillait Alysson avant de devenir barbière.
Le jeune homme a confié à nos confrères de la RTBF qu’il détestait aller chez le coiffeur, mais que la jeune femme l’avait très vite mis à l’aise. “On avait de bonnes discussions et je sentais que c’était une bonne personne”, a-t-il ajouté.
Le jour où est né le portrait d’Alysson, le jeune homme avait prévu de peindre. “Et ça coulait de source, il fallait que ce soit Alysson”, commente-t-il.
À travers sa fresque, le graffeur a voulu rendre hommage la barbière, mais pas seulement. Son œuvre est empreinte d’une certaine colère. La colère de voir que, selon lui, le gouvernement abandonne les indépendants: “Alysson a eu le courage de faire ce que beaucoup de gens de ma génération n’ont pas fait: entreprendre. En Belgique, c’est très dur.”
Since the news of Alysson’s death, expressions of affection have flooded social media. Friends, fellow barbers and hairdressers, independent, unknown, and even politicians, join in to pay tribute to the young barber. Last August, in the midst of a health crisis, this 24-year-old woman from Liège opened her barber shop, the Hooterscitting, in rue Saint-Gilles. A dream for her that was coming true. But a few months later, she couldn't get over it and ended her life.
At the start of the week, a fresco in the image of Alysson appeared in Liège. The portrait, which was taken in the abandoned building of Le Forem, rue Bois d´Avroy, has turned a lot on social networks. His father had long tried to find out who the author was in order to thank him. This is the Liege graffiti artist Hyer, a former client of the salon where Alysson worked before becoming a barber.
The young man told our colleagues at RTBF that he hated going to the hairdresser, but that the young woman quickly put him at ease. “We had good discussions and I felt he was a good person,” he added.
On the day the portrait of Alysson was born, the young man planned to paint. “And it was obvious, it had to be Alysson,” he comments.
Through his fresco, the graffiti artist wanted to pay homage to the barbière, but not only. There is a certain anger in his work. The anger to see that, according to him, the government is abandoning the independents: “Alysson had the courage to do what a lot of people of my generation did not do: undertake. In Belgium, it's very hard. "

The Stoclet Palace (French: Palais Stoclet, Dutch: Stocletpaleis) is a private mansion built by architect Josef Hoffmann between 1905 and 1911 in Brussels, Belgium, for banker and art lover Adolphe Stoclet. Considered Hoffman's masterpiece, the Stoclet's house is one of the most refined and luxurious private houses of the twentieth century.
The house and garden were completed in 1911 and their geometry marked a turning point in Art Nouveau, foreshadowing Art Deco and the Modern Movement in architecture. Stoclet House is one of the most accomplished and homogenous buildings of the Vienna Secession, and features works by Koloman Moser and Gustav Klimt, embodying the aspiration of creating a ‘total work of art' (Gesamtkunstwerk).
The mansion is still occupied by the Stoclet family and is not open to visitors. It was designated as a world heritage site by UNESCO in June 2009

C’est une exposition thématique, qui est le prolongement d’un livre publié en 2019, on peut y retrouver les plus belles pages du livre agrandies, entourées d’une centaine d’originaux de dessins (ce qui est très rare) et qui retrace l’évolution de la perception de Pierre Kroll sur l’environnement, le réchauffement climatique, la terre au sens large.
Caricaturiste incontournable en Belgique, Kroll est né en 1958 au Congo. Architecte et licencié en Sciences de l’environnement tout d’abord, il devient, dès 1985, dessinateur indépendant.
Depuis, on trouve ses dessins dans d’innombrables périodiques et publications, Pierre Kroll est le dessinateur attitré du quotidien belge Le Soir et de l’hebdomadaire Ciné-Télé-Revue. Il dessine en direct en télévision tous les dimanches sur la RTBF. Depuis 2015, il raconte son métier dans un spectacle d’humour qui remplit les plus grandes salles du pays. Il a reçu de nombreux prix et publie, chaque année, un recueil de ses meilleurs dessins.
Premier prix du Press Cartoon of Belgium 2006, 2009, 2012 et 2017.
Membre de l’Académie Royale de Belgique depuis 2016.
Les glaciers qui fondent, le niveau des océans qui monte, la pollution omniprésente, la disparition massive de la biodiversité sont autant de signes qui ne trompent pas : il est vraiment urgent d’agir... et d’en rire ! Soit l’humour nous permet de prendre conscience à temps du problème et nous encourage à changer les choses. Soit, foutu pour foutu, autant prendre notre extinction prochaine avec bonne humeur.
En 2019, Pierre Kroll a publié Des signes qui ne trompent pas aux éditions Les Arènes, une compilations de dessins sur l’écologie et l’environnement : ce qui inquiète, ce qui est en cause et ce qui doit changer… Certains ont 30 ans (comme quoi tout cela n’est pas nouveau), certains sont très récents.
It is a thematic exhibition, which is the extension of a book published in 2019, you can find there the most beautiful pages of the book enlarged, surrounded by a hundred original drawings (which is very rare) and which traces the evolution of Pierre Kroll's perception of the environment, global warming, the earth in the broad sense.
An essential caricaturist in Belgium, Kroll was born in 1958 in the Congo. First an architect and a graduate in Environmental Sciences, he became, in 1985, an independent draftsman.
Since then, we find his drawings in countless periodicals and publications, Pierre Kroll is the official cartoonist of the Belgian daily Le Soir and the weekly Ciné-Télé-Revue. He draws live on television every Sunday on RTBF. Since 2015, he has been telling his story in a comedy show that fills the biggest halls in the country. He has received numerous awards and publishes a collection of his best drawings every year.

Melting glaciers, rising ocean levels, omnipresent pollution, the massive disappearance of biodiversity are all unmistakable signs: it is really urgent to act... and to laugh about it! Either humor allows us to become aware of the problem in time and encourages us to change things. Either, screwed up for screwed up, might as well take our next extinction with good humor.
In 2019, Pierre Kroll published Signs that do not deceive with Les Arènes editions, a compilation of drawings on ecology and the environment: what worries, what is in question and what must change... Some are 30 years old (like what all this is not new), some are very recent.

Il n'y aura donc a priori pas d'intervention de la Ville "mais nous restons vigilants". Het Atomium is gebouwd in het kader van de Brusselse Wereldtentoonstelling in 1958, de zogenaamde Expo 58. Het stelt één elementaire cel zuiver ijzer voor dat sterk in ontwikkeling was en een belangrijke rol speelde in de optimistische kijk op ontwikkeling in de jaren vijftig. Het heeft de kubisch ruimtelijk gecentreerde structuur, zoals zuiver ijzer bij kamertemperatuur en onder atmosferische druk. Vreemd genoeg werd bij de bouw besloten dat de bollen niet van staal, maar van aluminium moesten worden gemaakt. Dit materiaal was in die tijd een materiaal in opkomst. Het is niet precies bekend waarom dit besluit werd genomen, maar waarschijnlijk was de reden dat aluminium op dat ogenblik aanmerkelijk beter bestand was tegen corrosie dan staal. Het gebouw zou volgens het oorspronkelijke plan niet langer dan zes maanden blijven staan. Aan het eind van de wereldtentoonstelling werd echter besloten om het gebouw, dat inmiddels erg populair en bekend was geworden, toch maar te laten staan.

L’Atomium a été imaginé par l’ingénieur André Waterkeyn et érigé par les architectes André et Jean Polak pour l’Exposition universelle de 1958 à Bruxelles en Belgique.
C’est un édifice à mi-chemin entre la sculpture et l’architecture qui culmine à 102 m. Son acier de construction pèse 2 400 tonnes. Il est devenu, au même titre que le Manneken Pis et la Grand-Place, un symbole de la capitale de la Belgique.
Il se compose d’une charpente d’acier portant neuf sphères reliées entre elles et revêtues, à l'origine, d’aluminium.
Les sphères ont un diamètre de 18 mètres et pèsent chacune environ 250 tonnes. Symboliquement, l’Atomium incarne l’audace d’une époque qui a voulu confronter le destin de l’Humanité avec les découvertes scientifiques.
La construction de l’Atomium fut une prouesse technique. Sur les neuf sphères, six sont rendues accessibles au public, chacune comportant deux étages principaux et un plancher inférieur réservé au service. Le Tube central contient l’ascenseur le plus rapide de l’époque (5 m/s) installé par la succursale belge de la firme suisse Schlieren (reprise plus tard par Schindler). Il permet à 22 personnes d’accéder au sommet en 23 secondes. Les escaliers mécaniques installés dans les tubes obliques, comptent parmi les plus longs d’Europe. Le plus grand mesure 35 m de long.
Le peintre Roger Hebbelinck (1912 - ?) et le sculpteur Ernest Salu (1909 -1987) filment avec des droits exclusifs la construction de l’Atomium. Le documentaire « Construction de l’Atomium » (1957- 26′- réalisation : E. Salu et R. Hebbelinck , musique : Christian Leroy) est primé à Anvers en 1958. Un reportage de la télévision belge (RTBF) de Francis Drapier réalisé en 1988 reproduit de larges extraits de ce documentaire1[réf. insuffisante].
L’Atomium, conçu pour durer six mois, n’était pas destiné à survivre à l’Exposition universelle de 1958, mais sa popularité et son succès en ont fait un élément majeur du paysage bruxellois. Sa destruction fut donc reportée d’année en année jusqu’à ce que l'on y renonce. Mais, pendant trente ans, peu de travaux d’entretien furent réalisés. De 1960 à 1962, un Grand Prix de Bruxelles automobile fut organisé non loin de celui-ci.
En 2013, la chaîne de télévision américaine CNN International a considéré l'Atomium comme monument le plus « bizarre » d'Europe devant la Banknote building (lt) et la Casa Milà2,3.
