It was a beautiful afternoon on the open sea. The sky and water go on for ever. However, the weather isn't too good for a sail race because there's no wind!
Nuestra querida ROXY nació en nuestro refugio. Su madre nos dejó cinco bonitos presentes y Roxy estaba entre ellos.
Es una gata que le gusta que la mimen, que pide caricias y juega mientras lame la mano en forma de agradecimiento.
Se lleva bien con otros gatos y es muy tranquila.
Todos sus hermanitos están ya en hogares con familias, pero ella sigue aquÃ, esperando su dÃa.
Tiene una carita que da ganas de comérsela y sus manchitas de colores, elegidas al azar la hacen aún más hermosa.
Roxy no ha tenido suerte hasta ahora porque es ese tipo de gata que no gusta, pero sólo quien la conoce sabe verdaderamente lo que se pierde al no tenerla cerca. Roxy es una preciosa gata, por dentro y por fuera.

On the corner of Franklin and First in Downtown Clarksville, the Lillian Theater was built in 1912. It burned down in 1913 and was rebuilt. It burned down again in 1945 and the was rebuilt again, this time as the Roxy theater.
It showed first run movies until 1980 and then ever since 1983 has been used as a popular live theater.
The Art Deco theater was also the backdrop of the music video "All I wanna Do" by Sheryl Crow in the mid 90's.

The Roxy Theatre in Lockport, Illinois is one of many theatres that bear the name. Each one is a small testament to the enduring power of the grand New York movie palace that popularized it.
Interestingly, the current use of this theatre (as of January of 2012) seems to be a nightclub. While that's not an uncommon new purpose for theatres, this one is unusual in that it tries to provide a safe place to socialize for people with mental illnesses from nearby treatment centers. Thanks to Roxy, my unwilling subject, for posing (I got about 30 seconds in total out of her).
This shot was inspired by Joe McNally. It consists of 25 blue-gelled flashes on the roof of my house all aimed at the trees in the background...joking.
Truthfully, it is inspired by McNally (page 168 of his Hot Shoe Diaries): White balance setting on my camera at 2500 Kelvin -- that's as low as my camera goes and I even went lower in post processing -- that turns the background blue. Then there's a 580EX II gelled red on the ground aimed up at the thistle, finally there's an LP120 gelled with 2 full CTOs at camera right. The flashes were triggered with PT-04 wireless triggers.
I did some saturation and exposure adjustments in Lightroom which you can see in the EXIF, however to actually photoshop an image to look like this would take much, much, more time and energy (and skill) than I've got, especially when you can get most of what you want in camera!
