Laid out in 1857, Gilson was on the Chicago, Burlington, and Quincy Rail Road in the days when the engines burned wood. By the time engines burned coal, the local timber had been pretty much decimated. Gilson Illinois.

Route 55 across the Sognefjell mountain area between Luster and Lom is the highest and most impressive mountain pass in Northern Europe (highest point 1430 meters), and it has been awarded the status of National Tourist Route because of the spectacular and wild mountain scenery it passes through in the Jotunheimen National Park.
This route is the main gateway to the Jotunheimen National Park - Norway's highest mountains.

A hazy September day finds four 40-series EMD’s leading a train past the yard in Reading, Pennsylvania. The train’s routing through town instead of on the Belt Line indicates that there are probably setouts or pickups in Reading.
One of the last old gasoline filling stations still standing in this part of the country. It is thought to have been built in the late teens or early twenties.
On Route 66 east of Arcadia, Oklahoma
On Friday I took a group of work colleagues up Scafell Pike. Just like the rest of my summer hikes the weather was once more poor. The one chink in its armour was when I left the rest of them taking a breather by a shelter and took a detour to the summit of the Great End to check out the cliff top views. The triangular patch of water seen way below is Sprinkling Tarn and our ascent route via Grains Ghyll is seen to its right.
