From the rooftop of our hotel in Rio... Life has been crazy lately and it would be nice to be somewhere like this for a few days... :-)

Posting this on the eve of the big game of the Chiefs vs. Titans. Our second year in a row we have the AFC Championship game at home.
This image comes from a shopping district in KC known as the Country Club Plaza. They display holiday lights each year. The red tower really stands out to me on this one along with the wonderful layers of the last remaining light.
Hopefully I can report that the Chiefs will make it to the Superbowl.

Watching squirrels is a favourite activity of mine. I never cease to be entertained by their antics. Unfortunately the local predators also like to watch their every move with a view to pouncing whenever they get the chance. This local cat was snapped perched up on the studio roof. Looks a bit like spring ? The out-of-focus blossom in the foreground is prunus subhirtella autumnalis that flowers in December. So spring is sadly a long way away yet.
Our hotel has a rooftop bar which has fantastic city views. I'm told they are the best views of the city. Naturally, the sunset times are crowded with happy hour revelers. Fancy camera stays in the room so as not to have peach martinis spilt on it.
This is the Huey P Long bridge over the Mississippi River.. Mr. Long was a governor of Louisiana who was assassinated in 1935.
This was taken a couple hours after sunrise when the cleaning crew let me onto the balcony. Even though it was not a photography trip, I brought a enough equipment to make an image or 500.
The Oxford Flicker First Friday Group’s current challenge is to produce photos taken on a given itinerary in Oxford. The walk can be real or virtual with photos taken from the archives, which is the case for mine.
This one is taken in Frideswide Square, Oxford, and is a fragment of the roof of the Saïd Business School, designed by architect Dixon Jones.

Just another architectural wonder in Wheelng WV
80 14th Street Wheeling built in approximately 1910 this is an Iconic grand Victorian in East Wheeling. I want to go back and shoot the whole building under better conditions but the roof is absolutley the best representation of this building.
When time and inspiration fail it's time to shoot anything. In this instance a northern sunset saved me from a day without a photo. A bit tedious, but hey ho.
