I saw this immaculate Rolls Royce Phantom Drophead Coupe in this stunning red cruising through La Jolla.
Parked outside the City Chambers in George Square is Glasgow's 1968 Rolls Royce Phantom 'G0' . 4/7/77. Certainly an imposing looking machine!
This has got to be the weirdest color ever on a RR. Spotted outside our hotel in Shanghai. More to come!

The Rolls Royce Pantom was launched at the top end of the Rolls Royce range in 2003 and was the first model introduced during the BMW era.
The Phantom uses a unique chassis platform, body, interior, and retains traditional Rolls-Royce design cues. with a pricipally aluminium body. Final assembly, including all body, paint, wood, and leather work, is completed to each customer's individual specification at the Rolls-Royce plant in Goodwood, West Sussex. The Phantom is 1.63 m (64.2 in) tall, 1.99 m (78.3 in) wide, 5.83 m (229.5 in) long, weighs 2,485 kg (5,478 lb) and can accelerate to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 5.9 seconds. The rear doors are rear-hinged, a style commonly referred to as suicide doors, but called 'coach doors' by Rolls-Royce. Because of the rear-seating position in relation to the rear inner-door handles, buttons are mounted on both C-pillars which operate hydraulic motors in order to close the rear doors. An electronic lock prevents the doors from being accidentally opened when moving.
The Phantom Series II Drophead is the 2×2 seater Convertible version of the Phantom Series II. It is based on the chassis of the Series I drophead and the exterior design is virtually unchanged except for the new headlights, identical to the ones equipped on the Series II Phantom Coupé.
In 2005 an Extended Wheelbase version was launched at Geneva, 2007 saw the launch of the Phantom Drophead Coupe and the Armour Plated Phantom and in 2008 the Phantom Coupe was launched in Geneva.
The Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead Coupé is a luxury grand tourer, unveiled at the 2007 North American International Auto Show in Detroit. t is based on the 2003 Rolls-Royce Phantom and has styling heavily derived from the 100EX, 2 door 4 seat convertible, a concept car shown to celebrate the company's centennial in 2004. The 2-door 4-seat convertible has rearward opening coach doors and a two-tone colour scheme that distinguishes between the upper and lower bodywork and frames the teak wood paneling of the convertible's tonneau cover. However unlike the 100EX it has a stainless steel bonnet rather than the show cars aluminium bonnet.. In 2015 it was the most expensive Rolls-Royce model at $533,000
For the 2009 model year the Phantom and Phantom Extended Wheelbase were updated with, the front bumper was designed and integrated with a shallower grille, finished in stainless steel, LED door handle illumination, 21-inch cast forged aluminum alloy wheels, in either painted or part polished finishes, as standard, the audio visuals were updated, new front and rear door cappings with integrated grab handles, new bi-directional double reading lights in the C-pillar, and climate control, volume control and electric window switches were relocated to a wood veneer panel in the door
In May 2012, Rolls-Royce announced the Series II car, to be available from the 2013 model year. Series II, exterior design updates by Andreas Thurner and interior design updates by Alan Sheppard, has a number of updated and improved features, including: Replacement of round lower light with complementary rectangular LED light, One-piece stamped radiator grille, New single-piece wheels, New side-badge design, Extended chrome detailing around the side window, Redesigned rear bumper, now one-step over two-step
Integrated exhaust detailing, mirroring those on the coupé

I know, it's an old picture from September 28th! However, still worth posting, right? Incredible supercar seize: Maserati MC12 (1 of 50), Aston Martin V8 V600 LM (1 of 40), and a Rolls Royce Phantom coupé! Quite nice, don't you think?

What would a trip to Las Vegas be without finding an over-the-top luxury car that you don't normally see in everyday life??
The Rolls-Royce Phantom is a British handmade luxury sedan made at the Goodwood plant in Chichester, West Sussex, England by Rolls-Royce Motor Cars. It features a 6.75 L V12 engine with 453 hp, a 8-speed automatic transmission, and a $450,000 price tag.
Just a few of the novelty features found on this vehicle:
- Customers can choose from 44,000 paint colors, and specify any leather color.
- The vehicle's unique instrument panel has no tachometer. Instead it has a power reserve dial that indicates how much of the engine's power is not being used and available to the driver.
- The rear doors are rear-hinged, a style commonly referred to as suicide doors, but called 'coach doors' by Rolls-Royce. Because of the rear-seating position in relation to the rear inner-door handles, buttons are mounted on both C-pillars which operate hydraulic motors in order to close the rear doors. An electronic lock prevents the doors from being accidentally opened when moving.
- The car will automatically brake to a walking speed if a coach door remains open when driving off.
- When front or rear doors are opened, umbrella compartments built into the rear doors are accessible. The factory supplied umbrellas are Teflon coated so they, and the compartment in which they are stored, dry out faster.
- The traditional Spirit of Ecstasy ornament has an automatic electronic retraction mechanism to prevent theft and protect pedestrians in the event of an accident. It may also be retracted by the driver at the touch of a button, or when the alarm is armed. The ornament base contains a sensor that detects movement, and will retract it if someone tampers with it.
- The "RR" logos on each of the wheel hubs are independent bezels in order to always remain upright while the wheel is rotating.
Three bracketed photos were taken with a handheld Nikon D7200 and combined with Photomatix Pro to create this HDR image. Additional adjustments were made in Photoshop CS6.

In late July 2017, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars held an exhibition named 'The Eight Great Phantoms' this coincided with the launch of the eighth generation of the Rolls-Royce Phantom. The exhibition was held in Bonhams on Bond Street in Mayfair, London. One Phantom from each generation was on display, this view shows the Aga Khan III Hooper bodied Rolls-Royce Phantom IV. It took two years to build from 1950 to 1952 and featured many bespoke additions including a Dictaphone and a full picnic set. The Aga Khan was among just 18 heads of state and members of the royal families to commission a Rolls-Royce Phantom IV.

It's summer in London, and every year the Arabian Oil Sheikhs, the Russian Oligarchs and anyone else with a bank account with an amount well over 6 figures converge on London, to amble about the streets in lavish and luxury sports cars that were built to conquer the racetrack. Here we have the Dorchester Hotel forecourt, and from right to left, we have a Lamborghini Aventador, two Rolls Royce Phantom Drophead Coupe's, a Bentley Mulsanne, another Lamborghini Aventador, a BMW of some description, a Range Rover and a Mercedes V-Class.

It doesn't happen that often that you spot a Rolls Royce in front of Gare du Nord in Paris. This Rolls-Royce Phantom with plates of Corsica was probably awaiting somebody coming from somewhere by TGV, Eurostar or Thalys.
I learned that this is a Rolls-Royce Phantom of the 8th generation.
