These girls handed me a discount pass to their next derby. I can't wait to see them kick the crap out of each other with those skates.
The boys had a rollerskating outing for cub scouts the other day. Genna loved it. She insisted on going round all by herself, without any help.
Yet another pair of skates. (Although now that my R3s are sold and I liquidated that spare pair of boots, I am back down to two pairs. Thrillhouse was calling me the "crazy cat lady of skates." Hey, have some sympathy, it's a disease.)
Boots are old 125s, probably 1970s vintage (note the stripes) and super comfy. Plates are Pacers, maybe? The trucks were, at least (the only part I can find with a maker's mark). They have beat up 7mm axles on them that will not take the 7mm bearings I have without major resistance.
First order of business is to get 8mm axles put on the trucks and replace the bushings and pivot cups, then once everything's back together again, start experimenting with outdoor wheels. I plan on putting many miles on these this summer, hitting the bike paths and parking lots.
When these were discovered on eBay, someone on Skatelog wanted the wheels (Labeda Fanjets with some German bearings I couldn't identify), so I sold those to him. All told, I've only spent a little under $100 on these skates so far.
