After many years of neglect, I took them out for a spin. Amazing feeling, it all comes back and I loved it. Tomorrow we are going again for some more skating fun!
Breaking into the roller derby world, tonight I went skating at Shake & Bake Family Fun Center.....in a blue light district, skatin' with the brothers, the sole white girl......and all I have to show for it is my bruised backside

Size 7. Its a bit big but It will last til next year. I made it reversible which she loves.
My husband and I visited a nearby antiques & collectibles mall and discovered these old rollerskates. I still have my old skate key (sans skates)! Wonder if they want it to go along with the skates?

Flat track roller derby is a high-octane contact team sport that requires speed, strategy, and athleticism. The rules can seem complicated to the uninitiated, but the energy and commitment from the players is palpable.
Auld Reekie Roller Girls is a not-for-profit, grassroots, flat track roller derby team based in Edinburgh. They were founded in 2008 and their first public game took place in January 2009 at Meadowbank Sports Centre. ARRG now has over 100 members and two travelling teams who have competed with some of the best teams from across Europe (and beyond).
We were honoured to be permitted to attend one of their training sessions, getting close to the action to capture this exciting new movement in Edinburgh's sporting world.
