Backyard snag that makes an excellent spot to birdwatch. Pileated Woodpeckers, Northern Flickers, Fish Crows, Sharp-Shinned Hawks, Red Shouldered Hawks, Turkey Vultures and Hummingbirds even perch on it. The best though was when a single Green Heron sat atop it and called and sunned itself in the morning sun.

The positive prints were posted back during roid week in 2015, it took me several years but I finally found the negatives after moving states and got around to bleaching them. Just in time for 2022 Polaroid week!

Thailand and elephants just go hand in hand; you see drawings and statues and sculptures everywhere you look.
Choosing an elephant park to visit was a difficult thing. There was no question in my mind that if I went to see elephants, they would be at a rescue center that takes humane care of them as opposed to elephants essentially be tortured for show. After a lot of research, I found one I was comfortable with. They weren't perfect (note the elephant being fed unhealthy sugar cane as a snack), but the elephants seemed very happy and lively so that was a good sign.
And elephants are incredible. Smart, funny, tons of personality (pun intended?), and just adorable to be around to boot.

It wouldn't be 'RoidWeek without a time-zero flame polaroid. This has been a wonderful week full of amazing, inspiring photos. It's been a joy connecting with old pola pals and making new ones. I can't wait until October and 'RoidWeek part two!

It is not so easy to catch the 3 buildings (Chrysler, Empire State and Flatiron) in the autumn light. On so many pictures they were gone. I am very happy with this one. I got the Chrysler on the first day in the wonderful evening light of New York.
