A first visit to Marsden for a sunrise on Sunday morning. It was a bit muted but the most disappointing thing was the speed camera van on the A19 before 6AM. I face an anxious wait to see if this was a very expensive morning :(
Taken during a sunrise shoot at Burwood Beach, NSW, Australia.
This beach is located about 800 metres south of Merewether Ocean Baths and is a nice quiet location with few if any people around.
As always, thanks for any comments, views or favorites, they are much appreciated!

Pastel on 300 gsm Snowdon
After doing 'realism' on these rocks, I decided to abstract the scene as it kept more of the soul.
Hele Bay, North Devon.
Two rocks under a rainbow created by this small river.
Ok, not by the quiet river section you can see in the photo, but by the big waterfall above this point.
Dave finally finished his bowl made out of rocks. Petoskey stones and many other assortment of rocks. Seen a Youtube how to do this and it worked. I filled with fruit and sure looks nice on the table on the front porch.
A few more ice abstracts from New Year's Eve .... it's grey, windy and wet now, so I'm looking back a week or two to brighter days.
On our cycling trip in Gatineau/Ottawa, we stopped below the Champlain Bridge to check out this view of the Ottawa River looking towards the Ontario side. It has become such a trend to leave small Inukshuks or balanced rocks to show that you were "here" at any spot. I was intrigued by the circle patterns in the rock on the shore.
Being rocks, they were stubborn and hard
It wasn’t their style to drop their guard
They stood there for years along
With a sense that something was wrong
No words were ever said,
Not even a gesture made
They had to ‘bridge’ this communication gap
But how? no one could wear a thinking cap
Finally,
One of them was somewhat brave.
He looked up and agreed to ‘wave'
Another slide restoration from 1973 and I got the colour back which was washed out. I think this was taken in Fall Creek Falls State Park, Tennessee.
I took this shot with an Olympus OM-1 camera with Kodachrome film way back in the 80's. Near Silver City, New Mexico.
Another shot from a magical early morning on the shores of Derwent Water in the Lake District of Cumbria.
These rocks are usually well submerged and certainly are now with the recent rains raising the levels substantially in the last 2 weeks.
This is the view looking South towards Borrowdale. Derwent Island is on the left of the frame and the Cat Bells Ridge to the centre with the dying ferns caught in the early light. Causey Pike is just peeking out in the upper right of the frame.
An early morning walk along the breakwall at Nambucca Heads, with natural light falling across the painted rocks.

The Belogradchik Rocks are miraculous sandstone and limestone rock formations of up to 200 m in height with various shapes resulting from erosion. They form a strip which is 30 km in length and 3 km in width in the northwestern part of the Stara Planina (Balkan) Mountain.
Every single rock is named after a real object that it resembles. The rock range varies in color.
