Bellano (Lago di Como)
L’ Orrido di Bellano è una cascata naturale, formata in tempi antichissimi dal torrente Pioverna. Nel corso dei millenni l’ acqua ha scavato una profonda gola e ha modellato le imponenti rocce della montagna, creando un ambiente tetro e suggestivo.
Le Rocce Rosse di Arbatax, alti scogli color ruggine, con la loro imponenza e la storia racchiusa in quelle pietre modellate dall’azione del mare e del vento, sono il luogo identificativo di Arbatax, una piccola frazione del comune di Tortolì.

The Alpi Mount is among the highest peaks of the Lucan Apennines.
With its almost 1900 meters altitude, this relief fascinates for its impressive and massive shape.
Beyond the wooded hills, the clouds play with its top.
Rocks and vapors enchant the observer's gaze.
«Il Parco naturalistico delle Biancane è un’area naturale ricca di manifestazioni geotermiche e per questo paragonata alle terre d’Islanda. Passeggiando al suo interno si possono ammirare soffioni, fuoriuscite di vapore dal terreno, putizze e fumarole. Il nome Biancane deriva dal bianco delle rocce: le emissioni di idrogeno solforato causano la reazione chimica con il calcare trasformandolo in gesso. Il vapore esce dalle fratture della roccia ad una temperatura di circa cento gradi centigradi. In corrispondenza degli sbocchi di vapore si formano cristalizzazioni di zolfo. Tutte le rocce si prensentano alterate dalla circolazione dei fluidi geotermici con la comparsa di colori meravigliosi e assolutamente unici».
"The Biancane Natural Park is a natural area rich in geothermal manifestations and for this reason compared to the lands of Iceland. Walking inside you can admire shower heads, steam leaks from the ground, putizze and fumaroles. The name Biancane derives from the white of the rocks: the emissions of hydrogen sulphide cause the chemical reaction with the limestone transforming it into gypsum. The vapor comes out of the fractures of the rock at a temperature of about one hundred degrees centigrade. Sulfur crystallizations are formed at the steam outlets. All the rocks appear altered by the circulation of geothermal fluids with the appearance of wonderful and absolutely unique colors ».
It is an enchanted village of Toiano: a handful of houses in the hilly countryside between Palaia and Volterra, against the backdrop of gullies and volcanic cliffs. Coming from Palaia, the road is no more than three meters wide, so two cars can hardly cross each other. The gaze inevitably lingers on the ravines, tufa spurs, even 40-50 meters high.

La Maison du Gouffre o "la casa tra le rocce", è un affascinante cottage incastonato tra due enormi rocce frastagliate che ha attirato turisti nel paesino altrimenti tranquillo di Plougrescant, situato nel dipartimento della Côtes-d'Armor nella regione della Bretagna, in Francia, dal XIX secolo. La casa ha le spalle rivolte al mare, dal quale il suo proprietario ha cercato di proteggerla costruendo la casa in una culla tra i due scogli per ripararla dalle violente tempeste che caratterizzano questo luogo. La casetta fu costruita nel 1861, in un'epoca in cui non esistevano i permessi di costruzione, dove chiunque poteva costruire a piacimento.
La Maison du Gouffre or “the house between the rocks”, is a charming cottage wedged between two huge jagged rocks that has been drawing tourists to the otherwise quiet little village of Plougrescant, located in the department of Côtes-d'Armor in the region of Brittany, in France, since the 19th century. The house has her back turned towards the sea, against which her owner sought to protect her by building the house in a cradle between the two rocks to shield her from the violent storms that frequent this place. The tiny house was built in 1861, at a time when building permits did not exist, where anyone could build at will.

La Corbière è situata all'estrema punta sud-occidentale di Jersey. Il nome significa "il luogo dei corvi". Le rocce e le estreme variazioni delle maree in tutto questo tratto di costa del Jersey sono da sempre state insidiose per la navigazione e La Corbière è stata teatro di numerosi naufragi, tra cui quella della nave postale "Express", il 20 settembre 1859. Il faro è situato su una roccia che è un'isola tidale. Un sentiero collega il faro alla costa a bassa marea. Vi è un allarme per avvertire i visitatori quando la marea sale. Tuttavia si verificano ancora sporadici incidenti tra gli incauti o sfortunati visitatori.
La Corbière is the extreme south-western point of Jersey. The name means "a place where crows gather". The rocks and extreme tidal variation around this stretch of Jersey's coast have been treacherous for navigation and La Corbière has been the scene of many shipwrecks, including that of the mail packet "Express" on 20 September 1859. The lighthouse is situated on a rock that is a tidal island. A causeway links the lighthouse to shore at low tide. There is an alarm to warn visitors to clear the causeway as the tide rises; still, there have been casualties among the unwary or unlucky.
