Dopo oltre due ore di cammino in verticale li ho fotografati completamente allo scoperto, nascosto solo da rocce con vegetazione bassa e alla luce del tramonto. Monopiede. Abruzzo - PNGSL

La creazione della Cascata risale al 271 a.C., è una formidabile opera d'ingegneria romana che servì a favorire il deflusso delle acque del Velino, responsabili di frequenti e disastrose inondazioni e della trasformazione di vaste estensioni di terra in malsane paludi.
Tra le più alte d'Europa, si sviluppa su un dislivello complessivo di 165 m, suddiviso in tre salti, inserita in un grande parco naturale. Il nome deriva dai sali di carbonato di calcio presenti sulle rocce che sono simili a marmo bianco.

The creation of the waterfall dates back to 271 BC, is a formidable work of Roman engineering that served to encourage the outflow of the waters of the Velino, responsible for frequent and disastrous floods and the transformation of vast expanses of land into unhealthy swamps.
Among the highest in Europe, it develops on a total height difference of 165 m, divided into three jumps, inserted in a large natural park. The name derives from the calcium carbonate salts present on the rocks which are similar to white marble.

Italia, Lazio, Civita di Bagnoregio (VT), Autunno 2011
Civita di Bagnoregio è un piccolo paese in provincia di Viterbo ed è in realtà costituito da due distinti centri abitati. Civita è su una collina accessibile solo tramite un lungo ponte. Una volta, Civita è la comunità più grande e Bagnoregio il satellite. Oggi, Civita ha solo circa 14 residenti, tanto da essere soprannominata "la città morta". Inoltre la città subisce l'erosione costante delle rocce vulcaniche sulla quale si erge. Civita è una città medievale, quasi del tutto intatto dal Rinascimento. (La facciata della chiesa fu rimaneggiata nel Rinascimento, ma la città è comunque del tutto medievale.) Nonostante il suo soprannome, durante la stagione turistica, Civita ferve di turisti. Una leggenda narra che il nome Bagnoregio sia stato dato alla citta’ dal re longobardo Desiderio dopo che costui era stato miracolosamente curato dalle acque termali di questa zona.
Civita di Bagnoregio is a small Italian hill town in the province of Viterbo, region of Lazio, in central Italy and it is actually two remote towns. Civita is on a hill accessible only by a long stone walkway that begins at the end of the road from neighboring Bagnoregio. Once, Civita was the larger community and Bagnoregio the satellite. Today, Civita has only about 14 year-round residents, so few that Civita is nicknamed "the Dead City." However the town suffers constant erosion of its volcanic rock into the valley below. Civita is a charming medieval city, almost utterly untouched by the Renaissance. (The facade of the church was remodeled during the Renaissance, but the city is otherwise entirely medieval.) Despite its nickname, during the tourist season, Civita bustles with day trippers. The History of Civita and Bagnoregio links each to other and the legend wants that Longobardi's king Desiderio named the city Bagnoregium after he was there to cure serious disease with local thermal water (Bagnoregio is a word composed by bagno (means: bath) and regio (regal, king)).

Jovibarba è una pianta speciale, di piccole dimensioni, appartenente all'affascinante famiglia delle Crassulaceae e all'habitat rupestre. Le sue foglie sono raccolte a carciofino, per limitare al massimo la traspirazione in un ambiente poverissimo d'acqua e il suoi fiori appaiono ispidi. E tuttavia, osservandoli attentamente e a distanza ravvicinata, essi rivelano tutta la loro singolare delicatezza ..... ..

Il faro in pietra di Ploumanach’ emerge dalla fascinosa confusione di blocchi di granito rosa attorno a Perros-Guirec lungo il “ Sentiero dei Doganieri “ Il cammino e' lungo 4 km e i primi due si snodano tra panorami stupendi, circondati da rocce dalle forme fantastiche (i cosiddetti rochers) che possono anche raggiungere un'altezza di 20m e che al tramonto si colorano di splendide sfumature che vanno dal grigio al rosa al lilla.
....momenti che non si dimenticano !!!! :)))

Fantastica alba sulla spiaggia di CEA, situata tra Bari sardo e Tortolì, foto pensata per un pò di tempo e alla fine portata a casa grazie a una situazione di luce veramente ottima.
Nell'Arches N.P. non ci sono solo archi naturali ma anche affascinanti formazioni rocciose dal caratteristico colore rosso. Mancano soltanto i Navajos a cavallo guidati dal mitico Aquila della Notte.

Arbol de Piedra - Desierto de Siloli (Bolivia)
L'albero di pietra, una strana formazione rocciosa nel Deserto di Siloli negli altipiani meridionali della Bolivia. Raggiungibile in fuori strada dopo circa 180 km di piste sconnesse ad un'altitudine tra 3900 e 4500 Mt slm.
