Coastal defence robo. Long legs are handy for patrolling coastal installations, spotting incoming kaiju and wading out in the surf the rescue drowning swimmers.
This was my Easter project, I wanted to make something that had a Robotech vibe and was a little bigger than the robot stuff I'd done lately. I also had Samus's armour in mind for the proportions, long legs and bulky shoulders, so it's a mish-mash of those influences.

ROBOTECH
A wonderful gift from mechanical_wunder . XD
i did some quick decolation (water slide decal, panel line with thin marker, a pieces of metal beads and flat coat) on it.
looks cute and cool!

Behold! The Macross Super Dimensional Fortress!
Robotech was the absolute best cartoon ever when I was a kid, and I've wanted to build this ship out of lego since back in the day. So as my first ever participation in Shiptember, the SDF-1 seemed like the perfect ship to fit the bill. plus I love making things that transform.
speaking of which, the modular transformation was quite a bit trickier than I expected it to be. Got a bit of a late start, and pretty much came down to the wire (especially with my Nikon battery running out of juice yesterday morning). But here she is! Fully transformable and highly articulated! Complete with destroid goodness.
*edit* well I finally found the shiptember group towards the end of October (whoops) and after reading a little there guess this guy doesn't even really qualify coming in at a mere 69 studs (happy accident). But oh well, atleast I'll know for next time

At the palatial home of Forge Fitzwilliam... or is it? Forge is suspected of being a con man of much notoriety and often what he claims to be his, actually isn't.
Today, Forge is speaking with three of the feared Poodoos, an exceeding rambunctious gang of criminals.
Forge: "...and of course you would have my immense resources backing the three of you. Though with this group, they will hardly be needed! A simple in-and-out. Retrieve the chest, drop it off where we agreed, and you're rich!"
Romgoo the Stupendous: "GURGH! BRLURRGH! RURRHHNNUBRLL!!"
Forge: "Totally understood! But with your incredible strength, and the Exo's firepower, and... whatever this blue fellow can do... I assure you that whatever security forces the stronghold has, they won't last at all against you. In fact, I'd wager that they all run away on sight!"
Romgoo: "PPLLRRPPTT!!! BRRLURBBL!! PRRPPLLLTTZZ!!"
Forge: "Mm! Mm. This is a very wet conversation. Well, if you're concerned about payment, just look at my home. That should be visual collateral in excess."
Battloid: "Is this really your home?"
Forge: *sputter* "Eh? Of course it's my home!"
Battloid: "Because there are a lot of portraits, but none of you."
Forge: "Ah, yes. That. Well, that... Humility. My friend, that is humility. I cannot... I dare say, I detest any aggrandizement of myself."
Battloid: "Right. You know, we can track you down. If we do not receive payment. You cannot hide from us."
Forge: "Hide? I will welcome you to a celebratory feast!"
Romgoo: "BLUORGHH!!!""
Forge: "I... I could not have phrased that any more succinctly myself."

In fact, this is one of my older MOCs that I have built over two years ago. Some of you probably already know it from my Brickshelf gallery or Brothers-Brick. I have only reviewed some of the photos and they are now displayed in a slightly higher resolution.
For everyone who does not know it yet: this MOC is my favorite mecha from the Classic BattleTech series...in fact it is a Robotech design, but in the beginning it was also used for Battletech until it became "unseen"...whatever...I love this 75 ton steel monster...even if it is made of plastic....
(A Tribute build to Robbe, a source of inspiration and encouragement. This group wouldn't be the same without you, bro)
As technology advanced, resulting in mechanization and automation revolutionizing an increasingly large portion of daily life, it was inevitable that this would also have ramifications upon the modern battlefield.
Drones, AI driven troop transports, and Exoskeleton Power Suits filled the battlefield, and contrary to many expectations, the human factor was increased rather than decreased. Technology claimed to supplant training, and masses of minimally trained troops could be fielded with relative ease and speed. In order to accommodate what was becoming the modern age's pike-man infantry, the industry behind a large portion of Exoskeleton Militarization also started mass producing fire arms to accompany their Battle Suits. The M473, nicknamed "Econo-Rifle" by troops, was the primary result of this endeavor.

A 21 cm exploration mech, equipped with a rifle, an arm-launcher, and a cockpit for a minifig. I was inspired by Macross/Robotech/Mospeada for some guide lines.
"...must be the sweetest feeling that a girl can feel."
I'm not going to apologize that my introduction to Macross came from Robotech. This is a little model interpretation of the Lynn Minmay doll realized in LEGO, eh...virtual LEGO. I'm pretty sure the construction will work in real life.
Made with LEGO Digital Designer, rendered with Bluerender, and instructions created with Blueprint. Thanks, Nick!
I love this creation because it combines two genres unique for me, Lego Classic Space and Robotech/Macross
