@stuartperlman asked me to go Guerilla Sketching on Labor Day. So we headed downtown to the Arts District at Verge Roaster Coffee. I did two sketches. After that we were wiped out and so lunch was a supreme gourmet meal multi course at TABERU izakaya down the street.

We visited a coffee roaster in southern Rwanda, maker of "Café de Maraba". This guy smelled the beans to make sure they were roasted to perfection..
Notre menu pour le déjeuner se compose comme suit :
- soupe de légumes épicée
- bœuf mariné, pain, frites
- cornichons et choux en salade
- gâteau praliné
- café.

only roasted enough beans for a single pot of coffee. He used this at the beginning of his adventure, when he was only roasting for himself and friends/family. This $75 machine offers no control over the process, heat setting, timing, etc.
Packing and labeling a just roasted batch of very special coffee, before grabbing one of the bikes on the opposite wall and going off to deliver the goods to a local restaurant.
Everything is made by hand here, even the business cards, which were stamped, cut and printed by hand while I waited.
