This group had successfully crossed before we arrived. They waited at the top of the bank for more wildebeest to join them.
Masai Mara National Reserve
I went for a walk out to the Benmore Hut back in November 2024.
The hut is out the back of Benmore Station and access is through the station. There's a parking area on the Station land that you can get to quite easily from the main road. Just watch out for stock when your driving around.
The access track from the station to the bush track is a 4x4 track that follows the river up stream. It's easy going but you might get wet feet crossing the river.
The track starts heading up hill once you get to the bush. The track was a bit muddy in place but nothing a bit of bush bashing can't get you around.
The hut is in its own little clearing and the walk there isn't that difficult. It's a popular spot for hunters so don't be surprised if you come across hunters.
