Red Deer (Cervus elaphus) / Obični jelen
Rarely I see one in wilderness, let alone three of them. Late spring, so no bad mood among them.

Captain Alonso Pinzon was the owner of the ship Pinta, the fastest of the three ships (Santa Maria and Niña) with which Christopher Columbus set out on the voyage to - as he believed - East Asia and Columbus' favorite ship. American land was sighted for the first time from aboard the Pinta on October 12, 1492, probably the island of Guanahani on the northeastern edge of the Bahamas. Why landed Pinzon in Baiona, Galicia? He wanted to be the first to tell the Spanish king, that he and not Columbus found the way to >India<. In Baiona you can see a replica of the ship >Pinta<.
These snowy egrets are such territorial birds. I'm sure it's stressful for their little world, but its fun for me, as a human, to watch the squabbles.

in the mirror....
First he did look into the mirror and probably thought what that guy there means to him - flew there and away , hopped closer and further away until he then decided it must be an rival he has to defeat ... This play lasted for a while until he lost interest ...
Southern Yellow-Billed Hornbill male (Tockus leucomelas) in Central Kalahari National Park, Botswana
What looks like a dance here is actually the first in a series of images depicting rivalry between two Yellow-billed Storks. The altercation was not too serious, but the one on the right was driven away and the victor strutted off to its mate. I assume the rivals were two males. Captured at Sunset Dam in the Kruger National Park.
The series (eight images) is presented in the comment boxes and as individual posts.

Playful Rivals
American Bison
Custer State Park
South Dakota
August 2025
Custer State Park is home to nearly 1,500 bison, one of the largest herds in the country. Seeing them roam the rolling prairies feels like stepping back in time to the untamed American West.
A thrilling three-way battle between the world's top assassins: a highly skilled army officer, the elite of special forces; a seasoned FBI agent, renowned for unmatched combat expertise; and the CIA’s deadliest female assassin, known for her speed, precision, and flawless tactics.
This heron was not at all pleased to see this white poacher and gave chase. Just managed to catch the two in focus in one frame :)
Many thanks to all who comment, fave or just enjoy looking, it really is very much appreciated!
Chicago & North Western F7A 417 brings commuter train 711 under rival Milwaukee Road at Richmond, Ill. on May 26, 1979. At the time the track overhead still hosted commuter trains to Walworth, Wis. It now belongs to Wisconsin & Southern.
The color this fall in Colorado was incredible! I’ve never seen so much color! Every and anything that had leaves 🍁 that could change color or had color did! It was complete sensory overload! Everywhere you looked…there was color! It was incredible! This was one of the first scenes I photographed on my trip to Colorado this past fall. I had been up pretty late in the evening trying to get to this location as the storm was starting to break. I guess the lack of sleep paid off!
I was somewhat nervous getting back into the field, because I hadn’t really shot much over the summer and was recently coming off of eye surgery as well. But like anything else, once you get back into the swing of things, everything starts to flow and you get your grove back. I think got my groove back😉
