ARR 3006 leads two sisters and a string of rip-rap loaded air dumps for an ongoing project a few miles north of Healy. To the right of the train is the old Healy Engine House, now demolished, unfortunately. The peak in the background is Mt Healy I believe. A day spent with the work train can be an exercise in futility or an extremely satisfying day of photography, fortunately, this was the latter.
Inspired (loosely) by the cover of Gordon Lightfoot's album 'Sundown'.
On the original Gordon sits cross-legged, cigarette in hand but I don't smoke and as Baz Luhrmann said, "Look after your knees, you'll miss them when they've gone". Too true Baz.

African leopards (Panthera pardus pardus) are one of the two big cats, along with the lion and included in the big five of Africa, that inhabit the continent of Africa.
Queen Lorian, a very famous and senior female leopard, was found dead yesterday morning, mauled to death by either Lions or another Leopard. She has left behind a 14 month old son, Roho who shall to fend for himself in the wild.
This was my latest sighting of her during a photography Safari on an early morning game drive in the Maasai Mara Game Reserve, Kenya.
Charlies Watts passed away 24th August 2021.
Drummer for The Rolling Stones. I have been listening to the Stones since , well most of my life. Today feels like the end of an era.
I saw them on TV performing this song in 1964 and fell in love with Mick Jagger aged 6. www.youtube.com/watch?v=gIKfN3CuFXA

I'm glad I managed to get a shot of this century-old classic when I did. It was demolished yesterday. www.cbc.ca/news/canada/calgary/w-a-gough-violin-16th-aven...

Art, you will always be within our hearts and in the hearts of many others that loved you and as close as a beautiful memory. I know that you and Joan were planning a trip to Canada as soon as COVID19 restrictions were lifted, we will be attending the virtual funeral as it is live streamed tomorrow. Art, you will be missed, may you rest in peace.
Had some sad news last evening... long time 'flickr buddy' Mark me'nthedogs has passed away. He was one of my very first flickr contacts. We had many a walk together over the years armed with our cameras and with his beloved dogs by his side, both on the levels and up on the hills where he lived. Of all the pictures I've taken of Mark on our days out this is still my favourite... On a day trip to Ryewater Farm in Dorset.
