When using a handheld, cable puller in the wilds of Vancouver Island nothing can be pulled until one finds a tailhold for the device to be attached to. Usually, this is a sturdy tree of unknown distance from the item being pulled. This is where the nylon-strap rigging becomes very useful. One should be prepared to have to extend this length out several metres and we now have that capability.

For Macro Mondays' "Junk Drawer" theme. These are used to measure the diameter of rigging wires. It may not be the most photogenic item, but I suspect no one else will post one!

Last Monday I went to Portland to photograph some of the tall ships where they were berthed. It was a bit disappointing because the largest ships were not available to us. This is of the reflections of the masts and rigging and also from structures along the dock. At the far end is the Picton Castle. Press L for a bit larger view.
